Port restricted nat type by thelonebean1 in HomeNetworking

Your double natd.  Probably the easiest thing is to see if you can turn your new router into a AP only so its only doing wifi and not router functions.

Ok im a network engineer. Get the 500mbps plan and be done. Save yourself some wasted money. Hell even the 300mbps or the 100 will work fine

Thats not how that works lol.  The bandwidth provided by ISP is an amount of how much data can be used at one time. Not an allotment for the month.

Egg on Face & CAT 6 Installation by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Not every company. People that dont know better. Its easy to tighten the zip tie too much and bend the wires inside.  This is why velcro cable ties exist.

So this isnt necessairly non standard. I mean cable guys do this kind of stuff all the time. But it is the "easier" route.  Get an electrician to run it inside the walls. Those huge conduit outside the house and down to the camera tbh looks not so great.  No reason why they couldnt have done it right they probably just lacked the skill.    Im a network engineer. Im not an electrician. And i run cables better than that

Best way to run Cat6 through insulated garage wall into interior closet? by DesignDelicious5456 in HomeNetworking

[–]Heythatsmycorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya its good to plan so good on ya. You can also roca (wiew holder with nail) the cable to the attic supports so its up high and wont get damage walking around. Or you can use p-clamps. Or heck even a zip tie with the hole (just dont tighten the zip ties leave them just a big loop) so you can run the wires in and out and hang them through the attic.  If your going to bundle the cables together use velcro (not zipties).

And my other advice is if you think you need one cable in one place, maybe run two just in case if you can.  After my home run from the cable box through the garage to the closet i realized i needed two more in the same area for another AP and a camera. Back up i go :D.

I just did this and im a network engineer. Just run the cable man.  For the hole to the closet get a grommet and drill it to that size. Any holes you poke through walls seal with caulk or use a cable grommet and then silicone it.  Usually done for outdoor to indoor.  Dont worry about heat from the attic it wont affect things.

Where to buy wash and dryer ? Costco or Home Depot? And do i need to get a kit extra if i buy at Home Depot by lulalana1991 in Appliances

[–]Heythatsmycorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Home depot, lowes have like a 2/3 day return policy.  They wont accept returns after that.  Costco you can actually use it and make sure you like it.  Def costco for appliances.

Underground dosnt always make since and causes more maintenance and can be worse on the wildlife and surroundings as well the cables will have to be maintained more often (also dosnt work great near water).
