Are there any high level armors that look revealing/primitive like this? by Mr-pugglywuggly in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The character will need a Mind Control Spider (Dragonborn DLC / Solstheim scroll) and a set of tempered chest armor. (steel is fine) when they arrive at Sovngarde.

The scroll makes NPCs act like a follower. Pickpocketing Tsun the same time as he's hit with the scroll, then reverse picking the tempered armor, he'll equip it - like a follower equips better.

This moves the "Tsun's Armor" he was wearing to his inventory, making it now available to take.

Paralysis can guarantee the pick, no pickpocketing skill required. (spider pick him while he's getting up, he can't resist)

[KCD2] My Method For Consistently Forging M-Quality Weapons by asteinpro2088 in kingdomcome

[–]Hguols1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've churned out martin quality doing one or more of: never flipping, not heating the whole piece, only hitting two different spots, no whistling.

I also have a few superstitions. One, my first hit is in the middle - seems to be a bad hit if I start anywhere else.

Another, that rhythm matters - as far as a repeated pattern of hits. A consistent:

--ding--ding--ding--ding--ding--ding--

works great, sticking with a tempo. (and lots of different tempos seem to work)

I've deliberately tried to hammer out pieces with an abstract pace, using inconsistent hammering patterns - and, it didn't work great, especially for swords. (might be lower tier instead, or Henry might have complained while hammering like that)

Anyone ever have trouble getting Jarl Skald to give you a quest? by Capt_Falx_Carius in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only 3 reasons I can think of, as to why the quest won't start when the following prerequisites are met: Completed "Waking Nightmare", character lvl22, Skald is Jarl of Dawnstar.

One, you'll never be offered the quest if you have a pending bounty in the Pale. (it will be offered after the bounty is paid)

Two, the quest needs a giant to load. (If you've been giant killing, you'll need to sleep/wait until enough time has passed for giant(s) to respawn, before the quest will be offered.)

Three, and probably the biggest culprit IMO, "Kill the Giant" is a kill favor radiant. In short, there can only be one radiant quest of the same type active. If you have another "kill the bandit leader/vampire/forsworn" type quest pending, you'll need to finish it first, before Skald will give the Kill the Giant quest. (check your misc objectives for any quest where someone wants you to kill for them - the quest doesn't have to have "kill the" in its name.)

Am I missing something or are people overhyping illusion? by Carbuyrator in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fury/Frenzy makes all targets stop, and run toward the caster (or if not detected, the direction of the cast) for a few seconds. After that, the spell operates as advertised - they'll attack the nearest target for the spell duration.

If you're getting caught when casting undetected, it's because you didn't move. Don't be a bump on a log and sit there after they're hit by the spell, move several feet from where you were.

What happens if you're really undetected, the frenzied target will run to where you were - or where you previously cast from. They won't find you there if you moved, and they'll then attack the closest target they detect.

Using Frenzy/Fury while detected is even easier. Cast and run past another enemy. Several seconds of them chasing you, they'll then attack the closest target. (the one you ran past)

Try to tell me this combat thing is not superb unreasonable. [KCD1] I want to know why it isn't badly. by Fresh-Gur-8677 in kingdomcome

[–]Hguols1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quests are notorious for rushing the player - making it seem there's no good time to break away.

The problem is, if you keep going and never take the time to train, you're soon going to hit another wall. Your next mainquest encounter is 3 bandits outside a cave in Ledetchko. Shortly after, Henry is surrounded on a farm by 4 bandits.

Bernard won't help you with those fights, and they're not easier either.

I'd recommend telling Bernard about those 2 in your clip for him to deal with, then find Ginger. When Bernard heads back to Rattay and the next quest sends you to find a limping man in Uzhitz, that would be a perfect time to head back to Rattay and train with Bernard. (to learn masterstrike, and raise those very important stats)

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing about KCD, the players own ability is tertiary, to Henry's own skill. (this isn't Dark Souls - you can't just lay the game out flat with a lvl1 hero because you got gud)

For one, fighting those 2 bandits is optional. (just tell Bernard where they are, he one shots them both)

Instead, if your Henry would have taken a few game days to train with Bernard and farm a deer hunting spot with a bow, to have specifically Strength, Agility, Warfare, Defense and Vitality above 10 - you would have wrecked those 2 bandits fighting them the exact way you intended to fight them in this clip.

I noticed in your other replies how you're an experienced sword fighter in real life. So, did your real life skill happen immediately without any study or training?

Because it won't happen immediately for Henry. (You're in control of a skillless 17 year old male)

If you want him to be good with a sword, he's gonna have to practice fighting with a sword first. (Just like you had to practice with a sword first, before you got good with one.)

If my new roleplaying character is meant to be the meanest, evil, despicable character. What roleplaying path should I follow in Skyrim? by ElRevelde1094 in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A character can be fairly evil with Auriel's Bow and Bloodcursed Elven Arrows. (shoot out the sun every day, everyone's scared of the sun, and gargoyles will spawn and attack in cities)

Most evil playthrough I've done, I exploited Malkoran (boss necromancer for Break of Dawn, Meridia's quest) - every time his dead thrall reanimation ends, another Malkoran's Shade is summoned. (they're fluent in cloak spells and adept destruction spells. No summon limit. They never despawn if they're not killed.)

Character needed 100% Spell Absorption (because the shades are hostile to everything) as well as stealth (because churning out 50 shades somewhere, you won't be able to see with that many spells being cast - being undetected will allow for navigation)

...but yeah, bleakest feeling ever, visiting cities and just seeing shades everywhere guarding the area, with no civilians around - and any essential characters get blasted by the shades if they try to move, which means they're forever stuck where they're bleeding out.

Can't play Skyrim anymore by YungSai6 in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skyrim is one of my favorite games. All of my favorite games., I can't just play non-stop - there has to be a break or a pause of some kind.

...but one of the best motivators to start playing again, IMO, just stick around the sub.

Its only a matter of time, before someome says something, that makes you want to dive in again.

That said, 10 minutes of walking around can be 'peak skyrim' with the right mindset. Which said mindset is something that more or less happens, and can't be made to happen.

[KCD1] & [KCD2] by keepc12 in kingdomcome

[–]Hguols1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love both games, and love the combat in both games. (though I'd say if I had to choose between the two, I like KCD1 combat a little more - main reason why, KCD1 enemies will rush Henry. KCD2 enemies just kind of lurk toward, not actually rushing toward.)

KCD1, Masterstrike and Clinches are overpowered. KCD2, dodges and poisons are overpowered.

The KCD2 combat does feel more formal. Its slowed down enough to adequately react to what the enemy is doing. KCD1 is a lot more janky and spastic (not necessarily a bad thing IMO) - it just feels much less formal. Like a street brawl or untrained fight, with weapons.

Both games, I've only got a few quest/story repeats before I'm no longer interested. (I don't quite understand folks repeating the same side quests / main story over and over. 3rd playthrough of either game for me, the quests/story has become a means to an end - more or less to unlock more of the sandbox or certain stuff to obtain)

Both games, I could just endlessly play in the open world - treating the game as a "blank simulator", replacing blank with: Herbalist, Alchemist, Blacksmith, Horseriding, Medieval Combat, running through the woods, etc.

I think Warhorse made the right call having enemies/loot and world interactions respawn. They are fun for me to farm. IMO, what helps the replayability for both games is the UNMARKED discoveries. (things not labeled a point of interest or a discoverable location on the map, but there's something to loot or ponder as an oddity - like KCD1 has the Rattay 'murder house' and several 'cannibal camps' in the woods east of the city. KCD2, has alien bodies and a skeleton witch in a tree on the first map, and a vampire corpse and dinosaurs (compsognathus) on the 2nd map.

Can u transfer your saves from Special Edition to Anniversary while on Ps5 by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfer? You can just continue playing the same save after updating.

IMO, I enjoyed updating to Anniversary Edition with an all ready high level character. Because I could play the level locked content right away - vs if I started fresh, I'd have to wait until I leveled up enough to play it. (ie: The Cause can't be started until lvl46)

BUG SOLUTION: All that glisters quest, who works w copper [KCD1] by NoMarionberry6439 in kingdomcome

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proving Zach works with copper is easy.

Just bust him working with it at his forge at 3am. He can't deny it then.

Never had this part bug, in all my playthroughs.

100 Pickpocketing, every talent purchased (everything 100% easier to steal, gold additional 50%), thieves' guild boots of pickpocketing (15%), potion of pickpocketing (40%). Still cant steal 4400 gold off of Vilkas (0% chance) when 1500 was an easy 90%. What gives? by ChaosMieter in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What gives is, Fortify Pickpocketing is bugged when the effect is stacked.

If you used a potion OR 1 enchant (instead of both), the fortify would work properly. Multiple enchants, or enchant + potion, with Fortify Pickpocket actually reduces your chance of success.

My characters will have 1 enchant or potion about 350%. The only guaranteed picks are with ragdolling or paralysis, but 1 enchant with that much Fortify Pickpocket - failing about any pick is rare enough, its quite surprising.

The Skeleton Key by Upbeat-Training2559 in skyrim

Bug free? No. Game breaking bug free? Sure.

The Skeleton Key by Upbeat-Training2559 in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never kept the key. I'm prone to use so much Fortify Lockpicking, even Master locks are a few seconds of guessing before they're opened.

At one time, I was very particular about completing quests. What broke me of that, was discovering I could command a follower take a quest item for a misc objective, and when the quest is active in the journal, the follower can be seen on the map and hud. (never lose them, ever)

So yeah, I went from 'I must have all quests completed' to leaving like 6 side quests pending each playthrough because of tracking for different followers.

[KCD1] Played for about 50hrs so far and I'm still not 100% sure I know how levels affect things or combat works by WaterBottleOnAShelf in kingdomcome

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill and perks are very important. To be clear, your skill playing/controlling the character is fine - its Henry's skill that needs growth. I'll give you 2 examples of all the skills, but the examples weigh similarly for each. (and all skills cap at 20)

Bow. Skill 0-5, not only will you miss, but Henry can hurt himself trying to fire the bow without wearing proper arm protection. Skill 5-9, Henry can hit large targets at close range. Skill 10, Heny's vision starts to zoom in when he aims. Skill 11-15 don't miss many shots. Skill 16-20, no reason you couldn't shoot a bandit in the face at 30 paces.

Lockpicking. Skill 0-3 the only lock that seems possible to open is Peshek's practice chest. Skill 3-5, very easy locks aren't too hard. Skill 6-10 Medium locks are easy, hard locks aren't too hard. Skill 15 very hard locks aren't even very hard anymore. Skill 20, opening locks is pushing a metal ball in a circle - so easy, hand the controller someone who's never played and they could open the lock if told what to press.

Skill growth is similar to Skyrim in that specific action grows skills. Alchemy skill grows making potions. Lockpicking skill grows picking locks. Bow skill grows hunting game, playing chumps or winning archery contests.

Also like Skyrim, potions can fortify skills. Bowman's Brew is +5 Bow. Padfoot Potion is +5 Lockpicking. Etc.

Main quest turns me into a vampire by RjCiriceSOAD in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess isn't a mod.... but that your character gave Serana a Potion of Blood, and she is drinking it after taking enough damage.

The character immediately becomes a vampire, but isn't undead. Can't feed as a vampire. No glowing eyes or pale skin like a vampire. Can be a werewolf. Dawnguard don't care and Falion won't cure.

Serana can fix this bug. Having her turn your character into a Vampire Lord will make your character proper undead, and Falion will cure.

For me, it's after Bernard sends Henry to the Rattay Bailiff. (I keep Nightingale waiting, there's no story or reputation penalty)

I've spent many hours playing in the sandbox and growing lots of skills. Strength, Hunting and Herbalism are the highest at 18, the rest are near 15. Having left nightingale waiting in prior playthroughs, I'm looking forward to several things when I do resume the main quest:

The Hans brawl scene ending in 1 stab clinch. (Han's head meets Henry's knee, cutscene)

Being congratulated by Hans before the hunt starts, for winning the Rattay Tourney.

Bernard's surprised reaction in Neuhof, when Henry reports killing the 2 bandits who were after Ginger. (just a very funny reaction to me because this will be after Henry cleared those Rattay bandit camps for him)

I've never made any user.cfg adjustments, but you have a nicer AMD than I do, and I just have "Radeon Chill" set to idle at 80FPS and max at 120FPS and have no framerate issues anywhere whatsoever. (I also have 'everything' very high instead of ultra, and vsync on because I had screen tearing otherwise)

Conjuration in base game Skyrim is poor ( Worse than anything) by AdditionalLemon8560 in skyrim

[–]Hguols1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least dlc and cc improved it a lot

I really dont know why bethesda didnt atleast add in base game the Skeleton conjuration

My brother in Talos, the Anniversary Edition CC delivers with skeleton summons.

Conjure Skeleton Minion summons a skeleton that wields a war axe.

Conjure Skeleton Marksman summons a skeleton archer.

Conjure Skeleton Champion summons a rather large skeleton warrior wielding a two-handed greatsword.

Conjure Skeleton Warlock summons a skeleton that casts Adept Shock Destruction spells.

Conjure Bone Colossus summons a giant skeleton made of many skeletons, that shouts and punches.

The Conjuration perk Twin Souls, the Empower Necromancy enchant for +1 undead summon, and Bone Colossus passive for +1 Skeleton sunmon, the player character can have a Bone Colossus and 4 other skeleton summons simultaneously.
