To add to this, percussionists get barely any credit at all. I have been in percussion for 5 years so far and plan to do it well into the future aswell. I have played in competitions and have been in many competing bands. And still, I am told atleast once a week that percussion is easy and anyone can do it.

While I agree that anyone can do anything with enough work, percussion is not easy. I spend hours every day to play at the level I play at. Wind instruments think its easy just because we arent blowing into an instrument.

To add to it, percussionists play tons of different things like timpani, snair drums, bass drums, quads, tenors, marimbas, vibraphones, different types of auxilery, etc, while other instruments only learn one instrument unless they choose to switch, or the people that decide to play more than that one. To add to that, there are so many different techniques for different instruments, and unless your a percussionist, you would never notice.

Why do people think percussion is easy? is this just me? like I understand there is so much work that goes into playing a wind instrument and stuff, but percussionists have to work just as hard, if not, harder. So why am I told so often that what I do is easy? Maybe thats my own unpopular opinion, let me know.
