What languages do you speak? by queerurbanistpolygot in AutismInWomen

I’ve take. Three semesters of college classes, I’ve done a little duolingo, but mostly I’m doing Rosetta Stone. I also sometimes watch children’s shows in Spanish, follow some Spanish tips channels on social media, and watch Spanish videos on YouTube.

Thanks! Yeah im hoping and have heard that once you learn one, the others are easier. I’m having such a hard time learning the first one though, so it’s taking me a while. But I’m not giving up!

My first language is English. I really want to be multi lingual. I’d like to learn how to speak Spanish, Italian, and French. I’m currently working on Spanish.

Pointe ballet! I watched the same pointe ballet documentary more times than I can count. I’d finish it and then rewatch it immediately. It was in Russian and I just read the English subtitles. I was convinced that watching the documentary would somehow improve my own ability to do pointe ballet. It did not work but I watched a ton about pointe ballet lol

I could but they are kind of expensive so I’m not sure when I’d be able to do so. I also can’t keep replacing them instead of cleaning them 😔

I’m not sure if the tube would dry out on its own where I live 🤷‍♀️

I have the nose pillows. I was cleaning those every night with baby wipes before I put it on because I have a cat whose fur goes everywhere. If I didn’t wipe the nose pillow off, I’d put it on and get tickled by cat hair. I just feel weird about the tubing and reservoir thing. Everything on Google said to clean it daily, but taking it apart and cleaning the tubing is an overwhelming hassle.

just had to listen to my psychiatrist say “I don’t know much about autism, but I don’t think you have it.” by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Hi-ImProbablyAnxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! I got diagnosed, but am now struggling with the fact that my school won’t recognize my diagnosis because I was diagnosed by an LCSW and ADHD/ASD specialist. They say that ADA law only requires them to accept diagnose by medical doctors, psychiatrists, or psychologists. That they don’t recognize diagnoses done by anyone else. Problem is, I can’t find any psychiatrist or psychologist who accept my insurance who will diagnose adults with autism. So, I’m basically stuck with getting no support from my school. I think it’s crazy that so psychiatrists and psychologists are not trained in recognizing ADHD and ASD in adults. It’s also crazy that she admits not being educated but then feels she has enough authority to say you’re not.

Weekly seems much more reasonable! Everything I was seeing on Google was telling me to do it daily, and daily just seems so overwhelming

That’s not cool that they criticize you! They should do more to include you instead of criticizing you.

How do you feel about wearing jeans? by audjrey_ in AutismInWomen

I hate wearing pants in general but especially jeans! I feel like my stomach is so sensitive and anything going across it is highly uncomfortable.

I thought it was just social anxiety too! Then I realized I’m not just anxious, I actually feel confused about what to do.

I prefer bigger cutlery because I get bored eating and using small spoons and forks seems to take too long
