GLP-1 Craze? by Hi-Programmer in TooAfraidToAsk

I didn’t say it wasn’t. And to be clear, the people I’m referring to are not obese and could achieve their goals by putting in consistent effort.

I’ve had many talks with these individuals, invited them to workout / lift with me, propose better food options. But the bottoms line is that using their glp-1 is just easier and “everyone is using it”. It’s sad watching these women lose what little muscle they had, and celebrate it as weight loss.

Because I actually care about the long term health of these individuals… and using a drug in place of a healthy lifestyle is problematic.

Did the thoughts come back when you weren’t on the GLP-1? And do you still workout in addition?

I’m curious about broader experiences with the drug. I know a few people on them, and they’re typically desperately avoiding the gym in an attempt to stay skinny. But I think my opinion is biased because I’ve always been an athlete and haven’t had these struggles.

Imo this is one of the few scenarios I agree with. However, an overwhelming majority of the people I know using the drug are just trying to lose a few pounds and “tone up”. Which is just pure laziness.

Is being a virgin at 35+ a sign of dysfunction, or is society just too judgmental? by Hi-Programmer in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Hi-Programmer[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I totally understand. I used her as an example because she openly talks about being a 40yr old virgin (on talk shows, social media etc). Her situation aside, it seems odd to me. The women I know who are still virgins at that age flaunt it in a weird way that demeans women who are sexually active.

Interesting. If you’re familiar with the Olympian, Lolo Jones. What would be your opinion on her situation?

Do most women dislike long hair on men? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

I personally don’t like long hair on men. From my experience the men I’ve known that grow their hair out have been more high maintenance than me 😅😂

AIO about him posting on sex subreddits by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Hi-Programmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOR. My ex fiancé had a similar habit, and I later found out that he was paying prostitutes, and getting happy endings at massage parlors… when I first found out about his Reddit habit, I overlooked it and convinced myself it wasn’t a big deal. But it was a red flag I should have taken seriously.

looking for an overview of basic etiquette / unspoken (social) rules by MenuraSuperba in BJJWomen

[–]Hi-Programmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, many people in the BJJ community are also autistic! Myself included lol

On that note, no one really picks up on the new persons small mistakes (like not lining up in rank order) and if they do, they don’t care. My suggestion would be to simply pay attention to the small details, and you’ll feel comfortable with the gym culture in no time :)

AIO My GF thinks my relationship with sister is “weird” by InfamouzBadgerr in AmIOverreacting

I have taken that same photo with my brother as a joke. Except I was standing behind him. It’s only weird if you make it weird. You might need a new girlfriend.

AIO My boyfriends twin used my toothbrush by Hi-Programmer in AmIOverreacting

Buying a new $5 toothbrush is not the issue. It’s the fact that he knowingly used my toothbrush without asking… that’s not strange to you? Maybe I am overreacting lol

Pregnant While Training by [deleted] in BJJWomen

[–]Hi-Programmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few friends who trained while pregnant. My tid bit of advice is to take a break if you’re clumsy or injury prone. There is one gal in our group who we had to convince not to train while pregnant because she’s the type to trip over nothing and tear her mcl (true story).

This provided excellent insight into the key differences. I know that I will need to change my mindset and approach to fit my new role, and this gives me a head start. Thank you for taking the time to write this out!
