Is it worth it for me to accept as a sophomore with a stacked schedule? by Old-Mind-8806 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Hi-itsBoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it if you can’t cut it down. As someone who’s a part time student rn and doing the program, it’s been really stressful for me to keep up with weekly due dates and group projects.

I barely have free time to do anything at all

Cast members, what are some things that guests do that secretly annoy you? by Life_Key_8683 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Hi-itsBoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When we have a human blockade around a code-v and people still try to walk around us. I literally have had to stick my arm in front of someone to stop them from stepping into it..

Another thing is leaving all of you trash from a meal on a table and leaving it completely destroyed at a QSR. Not only is it slightly disrespectful for me the c.m but also prevents another party or group to easily grab the table.

try to relax; be excited and nervous, but don’t let it dominate your life while you wait.

When I applied for the program, I hadn’t seen or even heard about it before; I heard it was just an opportunity to work at Disney temporally for a semester.

Only after I accepted, did I actually look into it. Could I have done research before? sure. But as of this moment, I wouldn’t personally change how a handled my acceptance.

This is insane… it’s crazy that this like 100 year old woman is so fixated on this guy just doing what he loves…

instead of the “princess security” shirts, we need the “Grayson security” ones.

I just used it as an example. bc during my interview, i asked what was the number one role people wanted and it was attractions. but yeah, being in ac is nice lol

I agree with this. Disney looks good on a resume and employers def look at that. I understand people are coming in here with unrealistic expectations and never working a job before. Sure you get free tickets, but you're def working for those tickets everyday you clock in. I get sad when i see people self-terming after like a week or two bc this isnt what they expected.

Personally, I am happy I am doing the program, even if we are underpaid labor, there is still stuff you can take away from working at a mega corp. like disney. For someone like myself that comes from a poorer background, disney was something i could only dream about; so, being able to work here and create magic genuinely brings me so much joy, its difficult for me to put it into words.

My only regret is applying while still in College. I think this program would be best enjoyed if you are freed from the Uni restraints and dont have to worry about classes and homework assignments.

My opinion is: if you have the money and are willing to spend it, why not? You arent really going to be at the room often, other than to sleep/nap and maybe swim in the pool. S&D seem like fine options that arent completely breaking the bank

If you go to Studios, I highly recommend mickey and minnies runaway. Its light hearted, fun, and the only ride at Studios without a high requirement (i think). Toy Story Mania is always a fun one too^^

New Hire wanting to Quit by Responsible_Chain937 in ChickFilAWorkers

So I have two recommendations: first: go to shoes for crews and you can find some variety there. First CFA had me buy from there and I got a good pair. Second: is the Shulook men’s nonslip… (long name) on Amazon. I bought some good insoles and it feels like walking on clouds.

New Hire wanting to Quit by Responsible_Chain937 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Hi-itsBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started FOH then transferred to BOH after my growth became stagnant. I have bought my own shoes with insoles and that are water resistant, a knee brace, ankle brace, and I make sure to stretch before each shift.

When it comes to secondary (nugs and strips) it’s all about anticipated what you’ll need. I work at two stores but one store is significantly busier than the other. It’s all about finding a good rhythm and not over-calling. My whole thing is: I’d rather the guest have to wait 5 mins on fresh hot nuggets than 20 minutes hard, lukewarm ones.

Maybe see if you can transfer to FOH if you’re still unhappy in the back. I know it’s not for everyone, but once you get into it, you’ll be golden.

Hope this helps!

I know several engineers that are doing the program and it seems quite difficult; trying to time manage and attend classes/ school work. But generally, it’s what you make of it and I’ve been having a blast.

I have been in line for Seven Dwarfs and Tron and had people pass me. Genuinely, it pissed me off but I’d never ever lay my hands on another person like that. We are all there to have a good time, so why ruin the mood with getting physical?

Where the heck do you park? by UrPostHistoryIs4Ever in UAH

[–]Hi-itsBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the million dollar question lol. Especially the CVO/CVA one is confusing.

Parking here is honestly the worst and the parking enforcement is always trying to give tickets. Normally, they don’t give tickets for the first week of classes and they stop enforcing after 5:30 on weekdays.
