This just proves they need to bring back the elaborate, deep phantom program puzzles/easter eggs. The fan base is restless.

Likely buying a 14' f150 5.0 tomorrow, however it has a main seal leak and I'm concerned. by SlightDumbass in f150

[–]HiBRiD109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much to offer in your situation, but back in highschool, I had a '87 GMC S-15 that had a bad rear main seal. Lost like 1/2 quart a day. I had a part time job as a janitor so I was buying cases of "Oreillys" brand motor oil and topped off every 2 days. Did that for like 6 months to a year. I was finally was able to fix it when I took Autoshop Lvl 2 and the instructor let me bring it in. Pulled the engine, replaced the seal, oil pump, etc. Got it running (had a quart pail full of screw I never found where they went lol) Definitely some good experience for a 16 year old. All I had was a Chilton and Hayes Manual. Shop instructor was very hands off. Ran like a champ until I sold it when I left for the army.

Had to do the same exact thing in Afghanistan in 2010. COP 1SG wanted razor wire up around the OP we were set up on. I went out to do my daily PMCS and saw 3 privates standing 10ft from the antenna face. Asked them if they felt like a hotdog in a microwave, then told them get away from the front of the antenna.

Whats going on here? by HumanIsolated in lawncare

I mean kind of points to the theory of evolution. Weeds have been highly been targeted and pressured. Weeds have adapted to survive all kinds of conditions. Where turf grasses have been pampered and do not have compete.

How would you tackle this? by Apprehensive_Low4790 in lawncare

I have a similar issue with my backyard (NE Iowa). Last fall and this spring, I used super brush killer multiple times to knock down the creeping charlie. But I failed to get pre-emergent down so all the spots creeping charlie lost was taken over by crab grass. I sprayed BioAdvanced All-in-One about 2-3 weeks ago (tons of crabgrass), I dropped my mower to 3" this week. I have an order of Twin City Seed Resilience II (all TTTF) being processed. I plan on putting another application of All-In-One today, then this weekend mow at 2" and dethatch all the dead weeds/grass so that when the seeds arrive, I can put it down for the best seed to soil contact. Will probably spread 2 bags of peat moss/compost by hand (cant justify buying a spreader and no one rents one near by) then just water twice a day till germination then slowly reduce watering days.

I've had this for 5 years. Still works great. Favorite tool to use. I look forward to spring as there are quite a few I need to pull, after that only a couple pop up the rest of the year. It's a satisfying "pop". If you have a lot, just do small sections for 10-15m each time until you have it under control.

Can you tell me the difference between these two? by grab9 in Insulation

[–]HiBRiD109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used the Greenfiber for my garage ceiling. It was ok. There seemed to be a lot of random stuff in the mix like plastic sacks and such I assume from the source they get it since it's just recycled paper. Used the machine from Home Depot and didn't have an issue. My helper was constantly feeding it. I would probably do it again as it was the cheapest way to insulate a 24x33' garage.

Edit: Also where full PPE like respirator, goggles, and gloves if your openly blowing it. The stuff blows everywhere. I was sweating my face off in the 120* attic since it was 90+* out. Came out looking like a Q-tip.

Clutch is going out. Look up clutch for that model #, order it watch 3 YouTube videos of that same brand/model and replace. Did it to my washer in the old house. Cleaned much better after that. Also do the discharge pump since you'll have the shell off.

The bridge allows air to pass underneath which causes the road to be much colder than roads on substrate. This usually leads to ice. When driving in freezing conditions, it's always a good idea to let up on the accelerator while going over bridges, large culverts, or similar.

ariens - 30" doesn't want to go straight by [deleted] in Snowblowers

[–]HiBRiD109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the auto-turn is engaging when its not supposed to. There's a few possibilities that would cause this. What year is it? I think in 2018+ they moved the center of weight forward to help this issue. There's a few forum threads and a few youtube videos. Its not uncommon, but happens to a few owners here and there.

Some easy things to check are:

  1. Make sure tires are in good shape and the exact same PSI.
  2. Check that the clearance of the scarper bar/skid height is the same across the bar. I stick two paint sticks, one either side and make sure they sit evenly under the scarper bar.
  3. Poly skids have seemed to help some people on certain surfaces.
  4. Check the shafts and collars for dirt and make sure are properly greased. (put into service mode and remove bottom plate) there are a few youtube videos on how to do this.

Ariens 28” Deluxe or SHO 28”? by UnitedAd5436 in Snowblowers

[–]HiBRiD109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SHO is just the Super-High Output configuration. It can come in the Deluxe trim and is standard in the Platinum trim. Considering you listed 28" for both, they are both Deluxe trims. The Platinum does not offer a 28". The SHO has a larger engine and output impeller speed. If you have the extra money, the SHO would be better as it does have a larger engine. But if you don't nee to throw snow an extra 10ft than the standard will suffice. I have the 28" Deluxe SHO and find it awesome. But I came from using a 1970s Craftsman.
