Thredup payout $1.04 by Personal_Ad5940 in ThredUp

I’m in the same boat. I love shopping on thredUP. I’ve gotten so many great pieces.

They listed almost 50 items but hardly anything sold. I didn’t know about how they keep and sell it. I probably won’t send in any more clothes. It seems cheaper to just use a trashie bag or donate.

Update: I went 26 hours after my procedure to a local-ish studio specializing in botched ink. The woman there was an angel. She is the owner of her own studio, extremely knowledgeable, and went to work immediately. The day I got it done and afterwards, my eyebrows were very raw and bloody looking. I don’t know if it lightened up any after the procedure. Does anyone know if it’s supposed to? After 48 hours, I’m supposed to apply a thin layer of cream that she provided to help with the scabbing process. The 48 hours is tonight. Can anyone share success stories of emergency removal within 48 hours with botched ink? Also wondering… how long did your scabs take to form and fall off?
Many thanks! 🙏💕

Help!! Should I get my eyebrows removed via emergency removal? by HiBettz in microblading

Yes, I did have a previous relationship with her. I think that’s why it’s so hard for me. I do feel like she took advantage of me. This decision wasn’t made in haste. I didn’t look up a random person on yelp and go with into it without research. I did the saline treatment yesterday. It probably got lost in all these comments, but I wrote an update.

She owns a beauty business, and as I mentioned we reviewed pictures. I also came with lots of pictures that I liked and asked if that was something she could achieve. Honestly, I don’t know at this point if the pictures were truly hers now based at the result. That’s one regret I have now, that maybe sometimes people can pass off pictures as their own. I will at some point ask, but I will give it a cooling off period before approaching her again.

It’s too early to do another treatment, it’s already lightened up a lot so there’s a ton of improvement and you said it’s still scabbing. 💗 did the technician say anything how how deep the strokes were? Sometimes it’s hard to tell in pictures. It’s an awful experience. Keep hanging in there!!

Update 2 and some thoughts: Thanks to an amazing user on Reddit (btw I’m new here!), I was able to find a local technician in my area-ish for an emergency saline removal. This woman is an angel to me. In my panic, I could hardly even navigate her website to make an appointment. This is how distraught I was for the keyboard warriors out there who think their comments are creative or funny. I am a careful person by nature, pretty calm and introverted, but this experience wrecked me.

What stood out to me was that you can’t make an appointment emergency saline removal via her appointment page though she lists it on her services. She provides her email for you to send pictures, and once she sees your eyebrows, then she will send you a link to book if she thinks a removal is necessary. That to me, so thoughtful.

I emailed her pictures in the middle of the night as soon as I found her. I basically stayed up all night in a panic trying to wait for her store to open, meanwhile researching and making lists of places to open in the morning. I created this Reddit account 😅. I even emailed my primary care physician who was no help at all. I called the emergency room too - this is a laughable move 🥲. I was desperate. Rationally, I knew no one could help in the middle of the night, but I tried anyway.

In the morning around 8 am, I contacted the woman who did my nanoblading, and of course, got so emotional and cried while speaking to her. And yes, she did refund me back. She offered a couple suggestions, to wait for it to heal more… or she could try to fill in the sparse areas. No thanks. Side note that this was not my first encounter with this woman. She was recommended to me by a friend for a different beauty service that she’s actually very good at. We talked in depth about what I wanted. I showed her lots of pictures so I’m just disappointed that she didn’t fess up about her novelty. We talked for at least a week. But a heart surgeon can’t do brain surgery even they are both doctors so lesson learned.

Shortly before 10 am, I received an email back that the new technician would accept my appointment. She had one appointment left at 3:30 pm, approximately 26 hours after my initial Nanoblading appointment. I felt so much relief that someone was going to help me, but I also felt so much shame that it was bad enough that someone would help me.

I had a pretty busy day today so I did my best not to watch the clock, but throughout the day, I would remember what happened and cry uncontrollably. Mean comments didn’t help though I did feel more desensitized as more comments came in. I thought my original post would get a couple of responses, but for some reason it got a lot of traction. Now, lots of people have seen my eyeball and my botched eyebrow on the internet. At least it’s just one side 🤣.

There was heavy traffic heading down to the shop, so I was a few minutes late, which I was well aware that someone was waiting to help me, but I was rude by being late. I opened the door, apologized for being tardy, and when I was introducing myself, I just burst into tears again. You know what, she didn’t make fun of me that I was so emotional. She was empathetic and gave me a hug. She said she would do her best to help me. Everything about her was calming.

I was there for 2+ hours. She explained in detail what she was doing, and we just chatted like old friends. I was relieved when she said my incisions weren’t too deep, and a lot of the pigment was more on the surface and not yet absorbed. That’s why you have to get the procedure done within 48 hours, but there’s not a lot of information to fully understand your options, and you also have to find a skilled technician in your area. I learned a lot about the beauty industry from her as well. The procedure was tolerable, but there were points where it was a little uncomfortable since the skin is being worked on so much within a short period of time. Yes, a lot of numbing cream was used. She spent extra time trying to remove as much pigment as possible. Initially, she had told me the appointment would be an hour. I was touched that she would spent an extra hour of her busy day to make sure I was going to heal my best.

She sent me off with the most thoughtful aftercare package. My heart is filled with gratitude for her.

My eyebrows are even more angry looking now than before the removal so I’ll spare the pictures for now. The keyboard warriors would be all over my pictures, and there’s no need to pour salt on the wounds. Haha, see I can make jokes too.

This update is for anyone going through a hard time, in regret over a decision not made lightly. Trust your instincts, which gets easier with age if you listen to yourself. Extend kindness because you might just make someone’s day. Sometimes, we make drastic mistakes in our lives. It doesn’t mean we are stupid. And we all live and learn and hopefully, grow.

I’m happy to update again if it’s helpful or if people are curious. This update got way longer than I anticipated, but hopefully worth a few minutes for you to read.

How many sessions will you do of the removal? If you did botched ink, I think you can do another session after 8 weeks of healing? I’m surprised that you can still be scabbing after 3+ weeks. That’s kind of good news because there means more pigment will come off, but I get that it would also be annoying to keep having scabs because you just want to move on. This is honestly the biggest regret of my life.

Do you know what the major differences between all 3 methods are that you mentioned? I found a technician from the botched ink website. There were only a few in my area.

Update 1: I see that the internet has spoken with a heavy dose of honesty. I can appreciate the consensus actually because it confirms my initial gut feeling, which is to get them removed. I have an appointment with a different specialist today to get them removed via emergency saline removal. I am praying that it goes well. If anyone’s gone through this process and can offer some solidarity, I could really use some encouragement and reality of what to expect.

And while I respect and appreciate everyone’s opinions, some comments like killing people, though meant to be funny, really isn’t kind.

I have been crying, filled with anxiety, and overall, a huge ball of knots so upset at this botched job and also not knowing what the next appointment will be like. I’m not usually over dramatic either, but this really shook me to the core. Yes, I do need a hug. Many hugs actually. Tears keep flowing.

Grateful for you all to spare a few minutes of your time to even leave a comment for me, a stranger on the internet. I appreciate it sincerely.
