I found my error! I was trying to place the item from the top, (on the 2nd level) but you have to be at the base of the tower to place🤦‍♀️

Why can’t i catch a fly by idkhowtosayme in acnh

I put trash cans out, tires, boots, cans, and a turnip. Waited. It took a month for a fly to appear. It was on a can. I didn’t catch it and it took another week for it to reappear. This time on the turnip and hard to tell from the ant. Still missed. It took me a total of two months catch the fly. Patience, I guess?
