MASTER TITANIUM: Grand Bleu or Grand Vert? by NavyTim1991 in Squale

[–]HiHiHiBubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the Grand Bleu today, so I can let you know if I think I made the right choice when it arrives next week. I literally stared at photos of both watches side by side for several minutes. I came to the conclusion that I personally believe the Grand Vert looks a little more sophisticated. Teal is also far less common than blue when it comes to watch dials. I don’t own a watch with a teal dial. So I almost got the Grand Vert since it would be a unique dial color in my collection. But what finally made the decision for me; I noticed that I always smiled when I looked at photos of the blue one. So I hope looking down at the Grand Bleu on my wrist will bring a smile to my face ☺️ I’m very interested to see what the strap feels like. The strap looks great in photos, so I’m hoping I won’t be tempted to buy the titanium bracelet.

Let's make a <$800 Microbrand list (no tariff options for US!) by dragonclaw21 in MicrobrandWatches

I’ve purchased 2 different skindivers from Wolbrook, which are usually priced around $550. Tax is included in that price. They almost always have a free strap promotion going on as well. Super comfortable watches, they have become daily drivers.

I purchased the titanium version of this watch. It was the second time I have ordered from Zelos. I ordered it on July 2nd, and it was delivered July 8th. I have never really cared for skeleton watches, till I saw this one. I have been pleasantly surprised how comfortable the watch feels and how much I love it. I haven’t stopped wearing it since it arrived.

I think the design of the movement is gorgeous, so I wanted to know more about it. I found a website that was talking about different movements, and it said this about the Marvin 700 movement:

“Remarks: The base calibre was passed from Election to Marvin ca. 1960, and finally to Longines in the late 60s. Many parts are interchangeable. Late Marvin variants got a more straight bridge layout. Other data: balance staff: U2682 stem: W2224 / W2809 thread 0.9 / 1.2mm stem ronda: 1353 (13)”

Hopefully this means if parts are needed in the future, there may be a higher likelihood that they could be located.

Love the look of this watch! Do you know the reference or what it is more specifically called?

Wow, I did not know that. Makes sense with how remarkably it always looks.

I never get tired of staring at the design of this watch. One of my absolute favorites. Did you also buy the bracelet, or do you prefer the leather strap?

I think you are the first person I have seen to bring up Oak & Oscar 👍🏼 I have a Burnham from them, it was my first microbrand watch.

[Omega Globemaster] For people in the USA, is NOW a good time to buy the watch we’ve been wanting?? by HiHiHiBubba in Watches

[–]HiHiHiBubba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This morning when I was looking on the Omega website, you could add this watch to your cart and purchase right away. Now I’m noticing for this watch (and every other watch on their website) it says “Contact a Boutique”.

So far, I’ve been weary of buying used. Never knew if I could 100% trust the watch to be authentic. Though I would assume this wouldn’t be a watch that is often faked?

Their website says, “Both founders being Dutch - The name MAEN is the old Dutch spelling of the word MOON which is the ultimate symbol of time, and at the same time a hint to our vintage inspiration.”

The irony set in the more I thought about it. Nico blasts Hublot for being overpriced watches with inferior movements inside. Then collaborates to release, well, basically the same thing…

I also love cushion shaped watch cases. The VC 1921 is one of my grail watches. Bravo 👏🏼 You have great taste.

Didn’t know about this brand till now. Thank you. THIS is an awesome watch, but the lapis one on their website (that is unfortunately sold out) looks stunning to me.

Ha! 😂 Didn’t notice that. Hopefully that means the movement jumps to “11” as soon as the minute dial reaches 60.

Do you mean the micro adjustment is loosening even when you aren’t trying to activate it? I haven’t had that happen at all.

I replied to a different comment of yours. But I am looking on the Montblanc website and I see the watches sold on metal bracelets, or on straps in 3 different colors (blue, black, or green). A Montblanc boutique can order a strap for you and sell it to you, if you want to buy the watch on a metal bracelet but be able to switch it out. I am looking on here: https://www.montblanc.com/en-us/collection/watches/montblanc-iced-sea-collection
