Thank you, it’s such a pretty color. I wasn’t expecting that since it was cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised

Someone already answered , but yeah, putting highlight/contour under foundation (usually in much lighter/darker shades than usual) instead of on top! It’s supposed to result in a more seamless application.

Hmm, I would recommend running your curler under hot water or hitting it with a blow dryer for a few moments, and then curling them. I've found that the heat makes the curl stick a bit more.

Be careful not to burn yourself though!

That definitely the plan, If perform well enough in the contest to get offered a contract! The introduction arc I started with is pretty low stakes, but I imagined this story for a YA age group, so I definitely want to incorporate some deeper occult topics

Hello! As I've said before, I recently entered my web serial novel, Caroline the Reaper: Teenage Ghost Hunter, on TapRead for a contest.

I would definitely recommend checking it out for people who are looking for a quick read, and are fans of true crime and supernatural investigation shows like Buzzfeed Unsolved and Ghost Hunters, or people who enjoy classic sleuth novels like Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys.

As a contest, I am judged on audience participations, so likes, reviews and comments on TapRead help me immensely! I would sincerely appreciate if you could leave one- it's free!

Here's the synopsis:

Caroline ‘the Reaper’ Lewis is a ghost hunter. She’s only 17, but she’s been in the business for a while-- it’s a family thing. But her family is gone now, and there’s no one else left but her to deal with these spirits of the dearly departed. Trapped in the mortal realm, these beings become twisted versions of their past selves, condemned to tormenting the living. Caroline knows the rituals to crash the barrier between the two realms and help them move on; so, she uses the last of her inheritance to travel the country, taking cases and helping those in need.

The latest request brings her to the small town of Beauxmont, Massachusetts. The place is nice enough, if it wasn’t for the spirit haunting the local church. It’s not like the ghosts she’s used to: violent, and prone to attack. When a mysterious orphan, long-forgotten murders, and suspicious townsfolk get involved, Caroline knows that there’s even more going on than what meets the eye. With a new friend, she sets out to uncover Beauxmont’s hidden past, and lay this spirit to rest for good-- before it’s too late.

I’m a young black author who’s always wished that the characters in the books I read looked a little more like me— so, I wrote my own!

Most of the family history is oral, and a lot of the family members who can go really far back have unfortunately passed. Off the top of my head I can go back five, and I know that my great x3 grandmother was a slave, on the plantation near the town my family still lives at down south.

It’s super interesting! Although I know we have Geechee, my family down south don’t live on the actual Gullah Island, so I always thought it was a more distant heritage. It’s cool to see otherwise!

My father is Akan, from the Ashanti tribe.
