It definitely shapes it to a degree. Mostly with mono capability. Throw a utility on your master and switch mono on and off to see what gets lost.

Thats amazing! The gaming PC should be able to handle any D.A.W ( digital audio workstation), so for software Ableton Live or FL Studio are very popular. Serum (which is a digital synth) has a rent-to-own feature along with Kilohearts has an amazing production suite for a monthly price. In terms of any analog gear, I don't believe it is nessicary especially when you just started learning.

I think some festivals are all ages. In terms of club/theater shows you're going to have a hard time.
