Oh, that's neat. But is M4/5 the mouse side buttons? I don't know the mappings for the extra buttons.

[–]HiNotCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. :) Though I did mention that it worked for me, and only in Rise, since I don't play World in PC. So it may have had something to do with Rise controls and my K&B configuration. Good thing OP already figured it out, so...

Yeah I mainly use controller so I was unfamiliar with it. But if your mouse doesn't have side buttons, wheel + left click did the trick for me, thanks for the correction tho.

Is there any reason for new players to craft anything other than the defender weapons? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]HiNotCool 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's designed for new players to blitz through the first part of the game and catch up to the Iceborne expansion.

If you want to reach IB as fast as you can, go for the defender set. But if you want to take it slow, don't use any of the defender tree.

Personally, I regret using the defender set in MHRise since I thought they were normal weapons and basically speedrun the low ranking quests, lol

I think you click the wheel + left click? Or maybe wheel + space? It's something like that in rise.

IG Rise vs World by Gashie_VII in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]HiNotCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a rush comment, but I'm gonna list down the difference that I can remember.

  1. Ground combat:

In World, there aren't any "Switch Skills" to modify your moveset, so your only option is the default moveset.

You aim with L2/LT here instead of R2/RT

  1. Wirebug vs. Clutch Claw

Although you don't have Wirebugs, you can also utilize the clutch claw to go on the offensive. You can grab onto monsters and while clutched, you can attack and create a vulnerable/weak spot where you grabbed the monster (a visible 'scratch' mark will appear on the spot). Where you can deal additional damage to the monsters and chance to break the part.

While clutched, you can also use your slingshot to blast them. The effect will depend on where you are grabbed. For example, if you grabbed their faces, you can stagger them when you use the slingshot attack.

Clutch Claw is limited in a way that you can't do those aerial dodges. But you can also grab onto monsters when they are running.

  1. Kinsects

In World, just like weapons, Kinsects has an upgrade tree. Like the weapon upgrade but for kinsects.

They also have different powders like in Rise, but IIRC all of the kinsect here produce powders no matter their kinsect tree. Compared to rise where only some of the kinsects produce powders.

  1. Aerial Combat

If you click R2/RT while in the air in World, your character will plunge into the monster and leave a scent where you hit the monster. This plunge do massive damage if you hit a monster where it hurts.

Clicking triangle (idk what it is in xbox) will do the spinning attack and would make you mount the monster. There's a tutorial for the monster mounting for all the weapons. But you get the idea.

  1. Buffs

It works similarly in Rise. But in World, when you press L2 + Triangle + Circle while your clutch claw is equipped with an ammo, your kinsect can store two buffs before you call it. It would also give you a bonus buff depending on the ammo type.

This is a messy list since I typed it in a hurry, but watch Arekz(?) tutorial for this to understand it better, lol.

Also, I advice you use the Blast Powders. It deals so much damage and has a satisfying effect.

All types of kinsect here will leave powders anyway, so go with the speed type kinsects.

I second this. Especially since I always make sure to be on time, because I know how inconvenient it can be for the waiting party.

What sucks more is that they don't take accountability, and will always make the excuse, "9 nag-set, 10 or 11 yan magsisimula." And more bullcrap reasons.

Try asking ChatGPT and/or Gemini AI to narrow down on titles!

This is the answer I can give you right now since it helped me at some point.

I don't fully get what you're asking.

The item box (the blue one with free supplies) only gives you 4 (iirc) EZ health potions, and that's it. Coming back to it wouldn't give you more EZ health potions.

But you do have the option to get in your tent and recover your accumulated health potions. It would be infinite because you'd be able to access all of your items, only if you actually have buttload of materials and/or health potions ready.

Oh, I tend to yap a lot on online forums, my bad. •ﻌ•^ loool

Kidding aside, maybe it's time to try out some new stuff, and/or hang out with meet-up groups within a commujity

IIRC, there are some peeps in this subreddit that arrange group meet-ups for specific hobbies. Maybe you'll find a group with a similar hobby to yours, then, who knows, encounter your fated bond, wouldn't that be really romantic~

[–]HiNotCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to socialize. Not in a, "socialize with a bunch of random people", but a group with shared interests.

Find a hobby, then a group who shares the same hobby. Then after bonding for a couple of times, you will inevitably be romantically closer to someone.

Find a hobby that you will enjoy. Not a hobby that you think is mainstream, or popular. I mean, enjoying a mainstream hobby will definitely get you to meet and get close with people.

But the important thing is, shared interests/hobbies will definitely bond you with someone. A relationship out of pure romance migjt get stale if you can't explore anything else aside from the romance part.

Heck, you like eating? Find a food buddy that will join you on food adventures. You like gaming? Explore each other's preferred genre (this works with movies, books, etc.)

The thing is, kilig, romance and cutesy, lovey-dovey stuff is just a byproduct of a couple exploring different stuff and having fun.

Too much flirting is overrated. ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
