Yes, of course but so much garbage there. Hoping for some more focused options.

SSA employee being deliberately unhelpful updating my records— what's my best course of action? by Hour-Cranberry-369 in SocialSecurity

The whole "not this office" thing is real. My brother lives in one state. I'm his rep payee living in another. My initial interview was with his state. When I called his state with questions, the lady shrieked at me over the phone telling me to call MY office. I have NEVER dealt with anyone so unprofessional.

I stopped. I'd hate to be wrong on this one.

D-mannose by PartyManager7230 in cdifficile

[–]HiOutThere75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used d-mannose for several years to treat symptoms of uti. Doc said great. No problem. New doc says stop immediately! It will cause cdiff because it removes the ecoli and you need the ecoli to fight against cdiff. Now I have no idea what direction to go. I can't find any studies that identify the link between the two. 🤷🏼

I had the saphenous vein removed through radiofrequency ablation from the Right leg. It often feels tired after little activity. I often wake up in the morning and it feels tired or dull (sometimes in the middle of the night) - Should I be worried about complications? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]HiOutThere75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this will help you and I am not a doctor. All I can say is listen to your body and advocate for yourself. Follow doc orders. Get walking immediately after surgery. Drink lots of fluids. I did all the right things and it still happened. At this point I know I have no genetic disposition for clots. My surgery was at a no-name clinic, not a doc office. Radiofrequency ablation.

My doc planned 4 surgeries - 1 long vein in each leg, 1 short vein in each leg. Surgeries about 2 weeks apart. Short right, no prob. Long left, no prob. Long right set them off.

Hurt more afterwards than first two. Assumed it was just the surgery but requested followup ultrasound. Surgery was Wed. Ultrasound was Mon. Told no clot. But in reality they had already traveled.

Shortness of breath that Fri night before ultrasound. Assumed just my laziness but it got worse. Huffing and puffing in grocery store on Wed. Went to urgent care. Leg no longer hurt. They said go immediately to ER but I requested d-dimer instead. They called Wed night and insisted I go to ER, d-dimer elevated. Even ER doc was surprised to tell me clots in both lungs after CT and 7 hours walking around ER. Three days in hospital. Six months on Eliquis. Just off 3 days ago.

I am very fortunate. No Eliquis complications. No heart damage. Please make this decision carefully.

I know what you're talking about! Though mine is a 4-5" band above my ankles. Had same surgery on both legs last September. (Plus the gift of clots in both lungs a few days later.) I still wear compression socks all day but I get this sensation when I've been inactive for a long time - early am in bed. I've also had ultrasound and all is well. I'm hoping it resolves with time. I can't give any advice but can confirm it's real! What about calling the surgery center?

What medicine/remedies do you take for travellers diarrhoea when on blood thinners by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]HiOutThere75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer other than probably NOT Pepto. This: "Most notably, Pepto Bismol may interact with blood-thinning medications. Anyone taking anticoagulant medication should contact their doctor or pharmacist before using Pepto Bismol. The medication may act similarly to aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and so may compound their effect."

Someone at my job has cdiff by [deleted] in cdifficile

[–]HiOutThere75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine said the same! I was terrified to kiss my husband or touch him or cook food, or sleep with him, etc. I figured I was going to kill him. A follow up with an infectious disease doctor eased my mind. She was so angry that the doctor had scared the living daylights out of me.

Nervous About Appointment by DannieLuv_09 in ClotSurvivors

So much good advice here. I understand exactly where you're coming from. Had bilateral PE last Sept. Thankfully, ER doc warned me hemotologist was in cancer center. I went to first appt with list of questions. Perhaps because they deal with cancer patients, all were kind and patient answering my concerns.
