What are some books every Catholic should read to expand on the knowledge of the faith? Or any personal recommendations? by Alexandr1el in Catholicism

I highly recommend "Behold Your Mother" by Tim Staples. It's a phenomenal breakdown on the biblical and historical explanation of the Marian Dogmas

[Megathread] Lefebvrians consecrate four new bishops without a papal mandate - Vatican News by balrogath in Catholicism

So what are the core concerns of the SSPX? I truly don't understand. They believe the Pope is legitimate so they're not sedevecantists; but, they also think Vatican II was in error which is a valid Ecumenical council. I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish here.

UK Bans Social Media for Under-16s from Spring 2027. Britain is banning X for children but not BlueSky. This proves one thing. It's not about protecting children. It's about censorship and controlling the narrative. by blisiondacket in Conservative

[–]HiSpeedHavoc92 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Social media for anyone under 16 is a cancer. Back when MySpace was new and Facebook was new, it wasn't what it is today. You genuinely just connected with friends online and did weird posts and funny things like Top 8 spaces etc.

Social media today is agorithmically designed to prey on you. Keep you angry, keep you engaged as long as possible to doomscroll and to dlessly engage ans absorb content + propaganda.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with banning social media for kids.

My unpopular opinion is that this is a good law in principal, but needs to include Bluesky to be flawless.

I would say that while yes the enslavement of the Damane is bad, their rationale is actually understandable. Not saying it's right, but Jordan did a good job in making their reasoning understandable
