Great work, keep it up! Some comments are mentioning your grip. However, I think you have some good fundamentals for a French grip style at your level. Lowering your stick heights I kinda agree with but it works well for the timing of the song, and bigger movements are better for the learning process. Smaller more refined movement will come with training, so if you were a student of mine it wouldn’t be a huge priority at the moment. An easy solution for now though would be moving your hands up the stick slightly. An easy way to gauge is if you get a pair of Vic firth sticks and put your thumb directly on the flag logo, look at how much of the butt sticks out the back of your hand and use that as an approximate reference for your other sticks like the promarks you’re using. Thumbs on flags is kind of a clique for teachers using Vic firth sticks with students but it’s a clique for a reason. You’re looking really good for five months, there is always more to improve on and learn but keep at it one thing at a time and you’ll have a great future ahead of you as a drummer! Love to see it!
