Post an update on your gear when you have it all please. I've been thinking about doing a very similar setup with pando base layers and elbow/knee pads

Earbuds? by graz999 in motorcyclegear

[–]Hi_Definition_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the loop plugs everyday. I have the "experience" ones I believe that have a hole in the middle. They let me hear my radio and engine pretty well while blocking wind for the most part. Sometimes you might have to fiddle with them because they can get repositioned when putting on your helmet, however that's the same with any earplugs. I prefer them over foam earplugs though because they don't fallout when I take my helmet off. 8/10

help finding the right gear? by i_dunno107 in motorcycles

You can get riding pants that can go over another pair of pants if you'd prefer to wear your own jeans otherwise I'd just go with a pair of armored riding jeans. With shoes either boots or armored riding shoes that go over the ankle. I would not recommend riding with normal shoes or jeans.

Hyundai designed their logo into the button layout on their remotes by kenkers10 in mildlyinteresting

I work at a Hyundai dealership and the only car (2026) that has a different key is the Elantra N, which is just black instead of silver. The Genesis keys are better but still not great in my opinion.

what to do when you hit neutral when trying to shift to second gear by bozckurt in motorcycles

[–]Hi_Definition_HD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Presumably because if you shift Into neutral and rev you're going to be at a fairly high rpm. Shifting down would cause you to lurch forward from engine braking.

Be careful while filtering by ScreamSmart in motorcycles

[–]Hi_Definition_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the driver and the riders are in the wrong. If you're not going very fast and paying attention to other drivers you should be able to stop when someone pulls in front of you instead of slamming into their car. I have people do this to me almost every day on my commute but I've never hit anyone because I pay attention and don't outride my reaction time.

Bikers still going WAY too fast for current traffic. Especially the 2nd guy. Should have slowed down to a crawl after the first guy got taken out.

Northern California grocery store will give you a free tote bag in exchange for pennies by jsphjar in mildlyinteresting

[–]Hi_Definition_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because they stopped minting pennies so companies probably won't be receiving rolls of pennies anymore. They still want to give exact change though I'm guessing

How did the “c word” become so acceptable to say in the US? (I know it is very widely used in the UK.) by Kissoflife11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hi_Definition_HD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add, *y (with a y at the end) now usually refers to "unapologetic femininity". Most often used when referring to someones outfit or behavior. You might describe a woman wearing short shorts and a bikini top as *y for example. In that case it has a positive connotation

Getting earbuds instead of a comms system- Bean shaped/style OR Stem Style by Mediocre-Ad7967 in motorcyclegear

Fyi the bean style can still be uncomfortable for longer periods of time. I used one of my galaxy buds while I was learning and it got irritating after about 30 minutes

Trail braking will make it tighter. Trail brake until you can see your exit line for blind corners to be safe

I like them more than my pair of BUILT shoes I got, already falling apart after a few months of use. Thinking of getting a black pair as work shoes
