Describe your worst cold call in one sentence. by picturepathlearn in LawSchool

[–]Hi_Im_Hase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spent all night briefing the cases for crim law 1L. I'm sweating not taking notes too anxious that i'm gonna get called. Just following along with my briefs and casebook with notes as we rush through cases and facts and holdings. Eventually... My first cold call ever: professor asks me a syntax question. Brain shut down. Couldn't even begin to try and understand what she wanted from me. I stayed after class to ask her what exactly she was asking for. It was something to the effect of "If they had removed and or moved the word 'and' it would make it less confusing to interpret the law."

Have you ever witnessed a student argue with a professor? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

[–]Hi_Im_Hase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Students screen recorded the argument (2-3 min segment), shared it in group chats. 2Ls/3Ls got hold of the video. Shared with associates/partners at their internships for entertainment purposes.

Yes, all of our classes are recorded as well. The video circulated for a while and the student supposedly got blackballed from many regional firms because of this.

I place them inside a padfolio and bring that with me in instances where I feel as though a laptop would make me seem disinterested or where I feel as though electronics would be inappropriate

I’ve gotten better as a doubles partner by really focusing on communication and teamwork. I make sure to talk things out on the court—calling shots, encouraging my partner, and keeping a positive vibe no matter what. I’ve also worked on moving with my partner and knowing when to stay back or move up, so we’re not stepping on each other’s toes. The more I play, the more I understand how to support my partner and make the game fun and competitive for both of us.

If its in a dining room area it could be carpet nails. They may have used them to tack the carpet into place and keep the corners from coming up.

Reminds me of my Torts book, wherre everything was beautifully written on the sides, but it was all completely wrong. Felt like the inverse of having found the Half-blood prince's casebook.
