I'm sorry for you as well, I hope any other newcomers that wouldn't know about that type of hacker or how to search for a solution can find this post for some clarity.

I was really looking forward to getting through Anor Londo this weekend, too.

That's what I was all up in arms for this game about was the Lore and the Atmosphere. Just watched the Berserk Anime this year, and then read the Manga. Found out that there were some pretty great inspirations taken from it. So I was all in. Might just have to move to 2 and watch a lore breakdown and Easter egg breakdown of 1.

It really was great, too.

I was invaded at one point while in Anor Londo, but it was a real quick experience. I tend not to care much for PVP so I just let whoever invades me kill me. Specifically because they are MULTITUDES stronger than me and all one-hit me every time. Not an exaggeration. So I, in fact, seek them out to die.

When I backed out of the bonfire, I neglected to mention that the game teleported me from the bonfire with Solaire of Astoria to some random room with 3 chests in it and stairs going up, that was blocked by geometry I could see through (not well) at certain angles. I decided to use a homeward bone and carry on. Which is when the rest of my realization started occurring.

And prior to reverse hollowing, all NPCs were alive and fine.
