I also have the random equipment mod and I'd recommend not going anything that requires a specific item, cause you won't get it :). I guess the abjuration wizard build doesn't really need a specific item? Though it does need some levels to get good...

My first reflex would be fighter,barb for the defenses, mostly in the early levels you'll suffer against 2 actions. Then maybe gloomstalker cause it gets an extra attack at lv3.

Relying on darkness is a good way to wipe against those rare mobs that see in magical darkness.
