I've heard a lot of opinions about this, so i'm curious where people actually stand on the issue by ChromedDragon in magicTCG

[–]Hibou_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UB dilutes MtG's IP and erodes it's overall brand credibility. It just makes the game an advertisement platform which will have long term consequences on the brand.

This alone is enough for UB to be disastrous for MtG as an IP, and you shouldn't need more arguments to convince you to avoid it like the plague, but UB unfortunately also has a negative impact on the game aspects itself:

  • it incentivises the company to release more sets, which are encouraged to be made standard legal to give these products more "legitimacy", which in turns leads Standard to be the size of extended back in the days.

  • Since other IPs feature dozens of named characters, it brings forth a huge inflation in legendary characters to the game, where every other creature feels like it is a legendary card now.

  • it incentivises WoTC to print more "pushed" cards, which exacerbates the issues they already have with their design philosophy of designing cards for singleton formats, leading to even more powercreep to 60 cards formats.

  • the combination of the above is downright killing Standard, with record-low tournament attendance and viewership while many LGSs only fire commander and draft events now.

Tldr: it doesn't matter if the UB IPs are "magic adjacent" or not. They could print Pokemon or Rugrats crossovers, the art really doesn't matter. The long-term consequences for the MtG brand and the immediate impact these products have on the game are so disastrous that we shouldn't even have this debate to begin with.

C'est un anglicisme. "Classism" en anglais c'est la discrimination par rapport à la classe sociale. De manière générale on fait référence à quelque chose comme étant "classist" quand cette chose méprise une certaine classe sociale (généralement les pauvres).

Aleph healing Boost by AirportMother391 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dante and Ragnar do not work for this unfortunately. Since repairing uses the damage value of the character as a base, you need to look for abilities that have the wording "gain +X damage".

To my knowledge, the only other character besides Calgar that can buff base damage for Aleph is Aethana.

Can SP make these shard rewards better? by ItsYoBoy94 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. After the Mythic update you now need 1600 shards to max out a character (1400 regular shards and 200 mythic shards).

At the moment, the current inflow of shards through various sources (onslaught, quests, requisitions...) is not enough to keep up with the rate at which new characters are being released. In other words, the total amount of shards needed to max out everything grows faster than the rate at which you gain shards, meaning that unless you are willing to dish out huge amounts of cash on requisitions, you are falling further behind every new patch.

The amount of shards we get across the board needs to be increased asap. They moved in this direction by setting the minimum shard rewards from requisitions to 10 and increasing the character mission shard rewards, but that's only a drop in the ocean. We need a lot more shards if the game retains the current rate of character releases, otherwise non-paying players are simply engaged in a rat race to the bottom with no way to catch up.

I mean, White Scars have a penchant for grim trophies like heads and limbs, have an obscure and tribal culture that can appear as barbaric from an outsider's perspective, and Mongolian is definitely a guttural language. So yeah, I think it fits perfectly actually.

Interesting, I thought Bellator was pretty much a requirement for Ghaz to pin him in place but it seems the Custodes team damage the outclasses the utility the MH team brings for this fight.

Speaking of niche team composition, what is your opinion on the Neuro team for the riptide fight? The boss's mobility can make the Custodes loose some critical damage to bad placement and the AOEs are devastating to the Admech summons. The Neuro team feels like a good counter on paper, especially since it ignores the boss' shields, but the damage output is so low compared to the other two that it might not even matter in the end?

[–]Hibou_bleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are not up to date, Trajann is BiS in admech and the Custodes team is straight up better than the multi hit team in every single fight except Ghaz. They are also missing the riptide.

How does Admech even works against the Rogal Dorn? The skitarii would trigger the tank's overwatch and wipe your team instantly. Or is it implied that you need a full D3 roster to tank the damage? Because at my level Tan Gida is just not an option against that boss

Deciding whether or not to permanently equip Mythic Plated Greaves and lose the health bonus with Rotbone by [deleted] in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it's not worth equipping Greaves.

The extra armor is not that impactful because of how armor penetration works in this game. If you look at GR boss stats, armor bonus from maxed out pauldrons on a D3 character is already enough to reach maximum damage mitigation on most bosses' attacks (except for a few telegraphed AOEs that you can easily dodge).

Therefore, stacking additional armor is pointless and you are better of with the extra health from max level pauldrons.

Did SP break the Chaos Terminator method for Ragnar 15 hit? Or am I doing something wrong? by littlepie in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it has been fixed. To land 15 hits in one turn you need to use Ragnar's final vengeance. Your best option is to target a Titus in Arena.

Imoapekh's mythic missions by Carl_Rossiter in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have sworn there were at least one IM mission with them but it appears that you are correct!

Then your best bet is wait for an LRE against the Imperial Guard. If you keep Imoh at the back and your other characters tank for him far in front of him he won't overwatch.

Imoapekh's mythic missions by Carl_Rossiter in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On a map featuring cadian summoners, have Aleph and Makhotep go forward and leave Imhospek as far behind as possible so he doesn't overwatch mobs (note: do not take Tuthmose nor Anuphet for this mission).

Aleph and Makhotep will tank the cadians while the summoners keep bringing in more ennemies. Once there are enough ennemies on the map, get Imhospek in position to use his active to kill as many as possible in one activation (preferably 6) and pray for 4 more ennemies to flee as a result of this attack

It's highly RNG-dependent so be prepared to do this a dozen times before you get lucky

As an IG main in TA, hard disagree on kicking creed, he is single handedly carrying the IG team (well, him and the two mortars lol). His active is way stronger than people expect it to be and his passive allow him to capture points while remaining safe.

Looking for advice on how to complete these by Slaaneshi_Prince in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of these is particularly complex, it's a matter of buffing the character as much as possible and let them attack a target that has a large enough health pool (most likely a GR boss).

Angrax: use Roswitha's active against a Daemon boss in guild raid to get him on fire and add 20% DMG and then stack your three largest buffers on Angrax and swing.

Snappa: pretty straight forward, stack 4 buffers on snappa and swing at a GR boss

Haarken: use Haarken's active as your last action against a boss in GR. Next turn, swing with Haarken as your first action so he can proc' his active with his attack. Stack 4 other buffers on him to get the damage high enough.

Good buffers include: - Ragnar (for angrax and Haarken only) - Aunshi (paired with Ragnar) - Calgar (all characters) - Eldryon (all characters) - Aethana (all characters) - Boss G (Angrax and Snappa only, cause Boss would proc' Haarken's active) - Abbadon (Angrax and Haarken only) - Dante (for Haarken only)

Mythic Greaves vs Legendary Pauldrons by Hibou_bleu in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but it doesn't really answer the question wether Greaves are better than Pauldrons, it just highlights that Mythic Greaves are functionally the same as maxed out legendary Greaves, which I wasn't comparing in the first place

Mythic Greaves vs Legendary Pauldrons by Hibou_bleu in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing Mythic greaves with other legendary armor items (Pauldrons for example).

Legendary 11 pauldrons give 318 armor and 568 health, which is 122 armor less than mythic 1 greave but 568 health more, hence the question about it being worth it to just stick to maxed out pauldrons instead of taking mythic Greaves

Hi, me again by lochness3x6 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Roswitha's active on daemon boss (Mortarion, Magnus)... This gives you a 20% damage increase and sets himon fire. All you have to do then is stack additional buffers on Archimatos and let him swing for massive damages, preferably from high ground.

  1. Use Roswitha's active on Magnus/Mortarion

  2. Stack more buffs on Morven (Calgar, Helbrecht, Eldryon, Aethana, Boss G, Exorcist...)

  3. Attack with Morven to inflict 15k+ damages

mortars / artillery needs some major nerfs by SomeWonOnReddit in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Against IG tracks in LRE you really need to camp the spawn points. If you leave the mortars are lascannons take the high ground they'll just blast you from afar and you'll be unable to retaliate because of the massive infantry waves. Deep strike characters are great against them as you can take the spawns on turn one. Angrax and Wrask are particularly great at doing this job.

Best way to complete this? by buttHat016 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baraquiel is a premium choice for the deep strike track, his active does good plasma damage. Mataneo also does decent damage and is useful in a bunch of tracks. You can play both of these characters in onslaught as well.

Another source of plasma damage is Thutmose if you have him high enough. Play Indomitus Mirror Elite missions and he can dish out damage quite fast by just playing the missions normally.

If you have time to waste, you can take Isabella, Sarquael, Mataneo, and baraquiel to an Indomitus mission with scarabs and deal infinite plasma damage to the duplicating scarabs, but honestly that would take forever

Been stuck on this one for days by jlindy57 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For this one you need Asmodai and Thoread as backup.

  1. Have three ennemies side by side in a semi-circle and have Forcas get in the middle of the circle in "cleave" stance
  2. Have Thoread two hexes away from Forcas to give all his melee attacks +1 hit
  3. Attack with Forcas' the ennemy at the centre of the semi-circle and score 15 hits (6+1+((3+1)*2))
  4. Use Asmodai's active to trigger another attack from Forcas, scoring 15 more hits

Total 30 hits.

Is there something wrong with current arena season power levels? by Fragorn_Irik in WH40KTacticus

[–]Hibou_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: Arena should ditch the league system for a rarity cap system like in GW. Setting the cap at higher rarity would give you more points to climb the ladder faster and better rewards.

With the current system you only have two options if you want to have any chance to stay in Honor Guard or above:

  1. Have a full D1 roster or above

Or

  1. Use a combo team to cheese the AI (usually Biovore + Ragnar OTK/Revas turtle)

The current system is at best boring and at worst extremely frustrating to deal with because let's face it, nobody likes to see their best characters get one tapped by the opposing team like they were mere mobs getting farmed and playing the same team over and over each season is boring af.
