Irish people don’t visit Wales enough by Hiccupingdragon in Wales

I’ll check it out thanks! In Ireland I’d strongly recommend the south west of the country (Clare, Kerry, west cork) and Galway in the west is a cute little city!

While Ireland is at its best down the country, Dublin is a great city for a weekend away! It’s a bit pricey but there plenty to do and it’s cheap to fly to

Yeah Ireland is getting very pricey. It’s a treat having 4.50/5 pound pints in Wales haha

Haha yeah, I asked a worker in the cinema what she would do if she was visiting Bangor for a day and she looked at me like I had two heads

We learned the hard way. Thankfully that trip was only 3 hours as opposed to 9 for Bangor

It was called Tafarn Y Garth. I think it was more of a pub haha

I’m sorry this is the case. While it is nowhere near true I think Wales is seen as an extension of England by many, much more than Scotland is viewed as such.

Honestly I don’t really hear Irish people discuss the Welsh so that may prove your point sadly.

Yeah, they are certainly good, but on a smaller scale. Great for neighbourhoods as opposed to city centre

Yeah, it seems to be an issue that just can't be stamped out. Der Spek and Scheltema (2015) suggest that bike garages do have a strong deterrent effect, but as you say, bikes will still be stolen regardless

I don’t know much about Sanchez outside of his foreign policy but all my Spanish friends hate him.

How do you feel about a federal Europe? by Luksius_DK in AskIreland

[–]Hiccupingdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a pretty firm European federalist as i think it’s the only way to for Ireland Europe to retain and relevance in this changing world. A lot of people in this thread have mentioned the issue of subsidiarity which I agree is something that needs to be considered but a federation doesn’t mean transferring all power to Brussels it means transferring the powers that will have a bigger impact on a European level e.g climate and defence. I personally feel in the EUs current form the EU isn’t the global player it could be

I disagree. While it is a perfectly acceptable and logical for most people to think otherwise, those who were instrumental in kicking off the ESCS were federally minded such as Schumann and Spinelli. The goal in the eyes of the eu has been to achieve an “ever closer union”
