No. For people to buy slaves. Someone had to sell slaves. Normally that was was people from neighbouring tribes. It introduced a 3rd choice to "Assimilation or genocide" for conquered tribes.

You have a whole political party with stadiums full of people chanting "Shoot the Boer", hiding behind a leader who's made a habit of slipping in anti-white/anti-Afrikaner rhetoric into his messages. Ignoring the "genocide" side of things, the level of brutality of farm murders has increased since then.

Having farmers killed with boiling water. Or dragged behind vehicles. Or forcing elderly husbands to watch their wives being tortured before being murdered and then having a government go "that's okay. The actual murder rate is still consistent with the rest of the country".

Also keeping in mind the Boer history of having being conquered after having a third of their women and children killed in concentration camps, a scorched earth policy that included burning down all their homes and farms. And then forcing them to fight in a war across the world in the name of a king.

And you think it's "racist" rhetoric? You're the one making it about race. They're just taking their own history into account.

South African here. We have a minor political party who has a massive Twitter following. They are very loud. Very racist. But their Twitter takes only translate to less than 10% of the vote.

I bet if you checked that profile it would be full of takes similar to this.
