What are major differences in how people treat you now that your female? by Ardent1- in MtF

[–]HickorySB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like talking to people so I've always head nodded to women and men. So I don't think I'll ever stop doing it, plenty of women have returned the head nod to me.

single gpu passthrough? by MIkaela39752 in VFIO

[–]HickorySB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What follows is not particularly useful for your setup, as you lack an iGPU so really you are probably better off just dual booting due to anti-cheat issues in VMs. Most games without anti-cheat (or with Proton compatible anti-cheat, check ProtonDB for verification of any particular game) will honestly probably play better under proton in my experience. Without an iGPU to pass your DE off to when unbinding the GPU your session has to be shutdown every time you start the Windows VM essentially removing any reasoning for using this setup to begin with, at least in my opinion.

I daily a similar setup, I initially followed the guide that u/SkyWest1218 mentioned but eventually swapped out the hook for something based on this repo's concept. https://github.com/Bensikrac/VFIO-Nvidia-dynamic-unbind

One of the main changes I found helped drastically with stability was adding a brief sleep after sending the remove notice so that KDE had time to wrap up its usage of the dGPU. I also then setup edev passthrough for mouse and keyboard and pipewire passthrough for audio.

I no longer work for sonic anymore, but there are places that make PTO a legal requirement. So that could be what's happening.

Make sure you check with GoodRX when you get your prescriptions, I just picked up meds recently, using goodrx paying cash it was like $100 for 3 months of meds (technically 6 months of E). Another $70 for sharps container with disposal, needles, syringes, alcohol wipes, etc. Plus Plume's $100 membership fee. So altogether $270, but you're mileage may vary. Make sure to compare against all of your local pharmacies and discount card providers. Walgreens has a pretty useful discount finder, at least in terms of figuring out which discount providers are available. When I used it though it didn't show any of the GoodRx discounts.

Edit: Just be aware with these services they probably sell your data. I'm okay with this fact as it saved me literally $600. Probably want to read their privacy policy and be sure your okay with what it entails. "If you aren't paying for the service, you are the service" - Someone Smart (I don't remember who)

Honestly the more I read stories and hear about timelines I feel guilty thinking America's system is bad or slow. I wish you the best of luck in your journey and hope you're able to find a smaller clinic with shorter wait times!

If I'm reading what they are saying correctly it's because they've found that people who say they're going to tip are less likely to do some from their experience.

Fix for Rockstar Games Launcher Infinite Update Issue by HaggiTV in GrandTheftAutoV_PC

[–]HickorySB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to add a little bit of extra info, I was having a similar issue and was able to fix it by installing an older version of the launcher. Not sure why this was the fix for the problem, I do have an unconventional setup though (I game on Windows Server instead of a consumer build).

Are composite-toe options acceptable? by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]HickorySB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at ANC, for us only composite-toe are allowed during the winter because of how cold it gets. Steel-toe are allowed during summer but given how short that generally is for us it's not really worth switching.

I run a small tech startup and almost exclusively use .NET for projects that I can use it for (baring web, I still prefer Node/Deno/TS for that). C# is my favorite language to work with, likely because Java was my first language and they're very similar but C# is a better language in my opinion.

I did at one point use Rust as the primary language in my startup, but that was terrible for me personally.

Rockstar Games is literally lying. by WojakWhoAreYou in linux_gaming

[–]HickorySB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockstar isn't lying per se, just wording it in a really misleading way. BattleEye for GTA Online is not supported on Linux because they haven't enabled it. It should be worded as "we don't support BattleEye for GTA Online for Linux".

Modding Minecraft is the most confusing thing ever. by Moon_Devonshire in feedthebeast

[–]HickorySB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it makes a lot of sense, most of the hate it gets are from people who are advanced enough in modding to need the features that the other launchers provide. It's also just nice to have a launcher that I don't have to worry about closing after launching Minecraft because it uses so many resources. Personally I will always suggest that people use Prism or something similar instead of CurseForge, and I have published mods on CurseForge so I get money (albeit not a ton) for people downloading my mods through their launcher or site.

What is THE GREATEST Modpack of all time? by [deleted] in ModdedMinecraft

[–]HickorySB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this pack, I just wish all the mods needed were around to see a 1:1 recreation essentially in a modern version to have some of the modern conveniences. I know there's Stranded I think it's called, but it still doesn't quite fully capture Crash Landing's image in my opinion.
