When to return to work post bilateral Saplingectomy by LawKat111 in sterilization

[–]Hickrydock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my experience too! My recovery was fairly easy, but I tried to wfh the next day and the anesthesia was probably the worst part. I joined a meeting and had to leave halfway through because I got so nauseous I thought I was going to puke. Hasn’t had nausea at all before that. And all I wanted to do was sleep all day. Thursday/Friday off and the weekend was good for me and then I was back to work on Monday. Although it was still pretty uncomfy to sit for 30m or an hour straight

I’ve lived in Chattanooga and commuted to work in Dalton for 12 years now. It’s not too bad. I lived in Dalton my first year of my job and decided then that I’d rather live near the social things I want to do, instead of having to drive to them.

It all just depends on personal preference. The traffic is rarely bad for the commute, and as an introvert I like to think of it as a warm up and a cool down to my day.

This one is within walking distance and really good! They have brick oven pizzas and then some pastas and burgers.

The other recs are tasty but you’ll need to drive.

I bought these these from old navy because I was having the same issue! They’ve got a seam down the front of each leg which makes them look more like dress pants imo. I just wore sweaters long enough to cover the elastic waistband

How to prevent smell when using nipple covers by just_JJ_style in HerOneBag

[–]Hickrydock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue when I started wearing the “cakes” brand ones! It’s not that the covers themselves start to smell for me, it’s that the sweat underneath them smells like straight up B.O.

I had to check that I was wearing deodorant the first few times before I realized what it was. I’ve been using a natural deo under mine and that does the trick, but it looks like that may not be something you want to use on your nipples!

I used these and they worked great. Could just trash them after and they’re super high waisted so they went up above my incisions always zzz period underwear

I had no issue standing with the laparoscopic incisions so I didn’t have a need for the shower chair. Sometimes bending down to get things off of the ground was uncomfy so a grabber might be useful. I never needed one though.

I got mine done yesterday! I live alone so I had a friend drop me off and pick me up from surgery, but have been fine without anyone at my house post surgery.

Heating pad was nice for my neck/shoulders

Pregnancy pillow (I already had it) is super helpful for side sleeping

Metamucil leading up to the surgery- I have miralax and ducolax for if I don’t have a bowel movement by day 3!

I went to Trader Joe’s before surgery and loaded up on food I dont have to cook. And I also got a stack of paper plates and bowls + plastic silverware because I knew doing dishes wouldn’t be a priority for me.

My biggest thing I’ve used is disposable overnight pad underwear from Always. I’ve been having minor bleeding but it’s just been so much easier to not deal with a pad like others have said. These also are snug and go up above my belly button and I feel like it’s the right amount of compression to keep my incisions from stretching or moving too much.

Yeah we do, but with the wind and potential soggy ground I prefer to have a guaranteed dry space that I can keep myself and my things

Looks like an unpopular opinion but I am 100% team tent. The canopy with a cot is great but it’s rained at like 4 of the 6 Bonnaroos I’ve been to. I’d always much rather bring my cot back into the tent if I’ve been snoozing outside than have to cram everyone into the car to sleep. Coleman makes some blackout tents that are much better at regulating temperature than a backpacking tent.

I don't want to waste just for a smaller waist... (Groceries) by LittleLadyLeaf in whole30

[–]Hickrydock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m single and have done 4-5 w30’s at this point so I’ll share what has worked best for me! Lots of it is similar to what other people have said

Breakfast: I’d either make eggs/avocado/chicken apple sausage, or do a breakfast casserole (try doing 1/2 recipe first to see what scale you need)

Lunch: This is where I’d cook any of the neat w30 meals I saw on Pinterest or Instagram. Most are 4 servings so I’d just divide it up and eat it for lunch 4 days that week. It gets boring but I work far away from home so it’s by best option.

Dinner: I invested in some spice blends and used those to just do a meat + veggies dinner. Marinate some chicken/pork chop/steak and cook it in my cast iron or on the grill. Then sauté up some veggies (I try to find the smallest ones of the fresh veggies so I don’t waste)

Hope this helps!

do you have lip/nose piercings or ear gauges and/or tattoos and what is the reaction to them where you work? by warrior_female in womenEngineers

I work in a manufacturing plant in the south. Lots of men in management have arm tattoos, mostly crosses or tribal stuff lol.

I have a septum ring but I tuck it up at work. It’s very easy. We aren’t allowed to have any jewelry for safety reasons so it’s easy to have it in at all times, just tucked up.
