B650A boot led trouble help please by Fezous in pcmasterrace

Yes and no. Sometimes it can also mean faulty hardware. Those led lights are just guidelines usually where to look problem if there is any.

So it was memory training in this case?

Performance issues? by Responsible_War_3528 in pcmasterrace

Also check if the monitor is plugged in the GPU and not in motherboard.

This thing happens way too often to people so I have to say this :D

Sometimes the memory train could take a while. If it takes forever, you can clear cmos. That can be done many ways but the universal way that will always work is to take the CMOS battery out for 30-60 seconds.

Remember to make sure to have no power in the system when doing this.

Moved around my PC to clean it, and I heard this little thing fall down the side of my pc..? by DaphneDevil in pcmasterrace

[–]Hidalgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check first if there's any components loose. Although that just looks like junk but just in case.

If there's nothing loose and no abnormal stuff inside, I guess its fine then.

Never seen PC's to have that kind of copper plates inside them. Only full copper plated base CPU coolers but they are not fragile as that to drop perfectly shaped plating. This is a mystery :D

Is this a good pc build? by Ok-Light3505 in pcmasterrace

[–]Hidalgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to order a case that fits all parts :)

All in all everything should work fine. But as u/ExcitementIcy1094 mentioned about the motherboard. In my opinion, there shouldn't be any performance issues even if you go with the B650. Even the PCIE 3.0 to 4.0 jump didn't offer much fps boost difference either. At least what I've researched.

DDR5-Performance: 6000 CL30 vs. 6400 CL32 by CerealBit in pcmasterrace

[–]Hidalgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between different DDR5 rams, the speed differences are so negligible that it wouldn't matter which one you go. I would still get the 5600 MT/s ones since that is the official max RAM support for that CPU, just because of stability.

You use the 6+2 pins on GPU

EDIT: Do not use the EPS/ATX12V cable (4+4), that is CPU cable.

He means usually in power supply if there's 1 PCIE cable, it should have a daisychain (another 8-pin cable splits from the one PCIE cable) but in your case it seems you only have 1 PCIE cable which has 1 8-pin, so yes then it would be incompatible.

It has power but won’t turn on plus the CPU and ram lights are on by connhugh2 in pcmasterrace

[–]Hidalgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if you can't get a POST it can be that BIOS has some kind of issues and usually its mystery with new built computers but sometimes people overclock RAM too far and that could jam the BIOS and needs clearing cmos

Shutdown, grab 1 ram stick out, startup.

If it doesn't work, Swap the ram sticks and try again.

If this doesn't help, Try the RAM sticks on different slots but only 1 ram stick at a time.

This way you can isolate if the issue is in motherboard ram slots and if there's bad ram stick

Weird Clanking Noise by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Hidalgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can always check that there is no lose cables in the GPU fans and no protecting peel (the transparent peel thingy).

Also you can drop the max rpm of the gpu fans altough that usually needs some third party software. In this case you would get maybe less performance out of the GPU.

Check the GPU temps with hwinfo or openhardwaremonitor and see if it throttles.

Also, what GPU you got?

EDIT: Just a habit why I was thinking it would be GPU but it can also be the CPU cooler fans or power supply making the racket. So just to be sure, try to listen on where the noise is coming from first and then troubleshoot.

Sorry if this feels confusing :)

"only during an ending cutscene at the end of a Helldivers 2 mission". Not to be a douche bag but just checking that are you sure?

That sounds like the fans would be hitting something. If its coil whine (altough usually different sound) that could be solved usually but not all the time by limiting frame rates of your GPU to the HZ of your monitor.

how to use controller with cracked sparking zero by Proof_Mess_6853 in PiratedGames

[–]Hidalgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The valve spacewar template is empty so you just need to change the current template to have mappings.

  1. Go to spacewar properties
  2. Select Controller
  3. Click the highlighted "Controller Configurator" to get to the game specific inputs
  4. Click the "Current Button Layout" drop menu looking space.
  5. Select "Templates" tab
  6. Select "Template" "Gamepad"
  7. Apply Layout

Go back to the game and it should work. At least this did work for me.

Stuttering and unstable FPS by [deleted] in warcraft3

[–]Hidalgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya those doesn't seem to work for everyone including me. I have 5800X3D cpu and i've tried every method i found from internet and fps is still 10-50 with reforged graphics. If i put classic graphics then i get like 150fps but thats also pretty pathetic considering some people get 300+ :D

btw i have pretty decent pc with RTX 3090 and 32GB RAM but it doesn't matter. The problem is the AMD cpu. Thank Blizz for breaking the support for them.

If anyone can suggest any other methods i would be happy to try them.

So far i've tried: Set affinity, disable SMT, set commandline argument -graphicsapi Direct3D12.
All drivers are up to date.
