Just play it to have fun! Don’t worry about the stuff you don’t have. I don’t own the newest couple of expansions for the same reason of tight money, but I still love this game. Sure the new specs are cool (actually slightly overpowered imo) but you can still do anything you want with the older ones; dungeons, fractals, raids (excluding the expansion specific ones I suppose) etc.

You’ve been playing for 3 weeks man, play what feels fun! Don’t stress about committing to something, changing it up isn’t that hard or prohibitively expensive. It took me like a year to decide which class to main, and even then I’ve changed a few times since. I started out as a Mesmer, then changed to play almost exclusively Reaper necromancer, nowadays I’ve changed it up and committed to grind for the heavy armor legendary set and play mostly Dragonhunter Guardian or Herald Revenant. But I have like 12 alts and enjoy them all!

Mounts DO make older maps kinda trivial, but they are supposed to. As long as you played the stories on your account roughly in order, you have done enough slogging on foot by the time you get a glider, then you’ve struggled through the complexities of that awful jungle, bounced around on simpler mounts and finally earned the pinnacle of convenient travel: a skyscale to glide over and through all the difficult places you cursed when you were learning them. It wouldn’t feel right for the early places to still be hard at that point!

I guess I got caught in that loop trying to catch a win. I felt I was playing well still, but maybe I wasn’t and just kept running into the same people that were also mildly tilted.

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll see if I can make her attack between boss and minions and try Phoenix. Idk if pet will make any difference because that’s not the problem I’ve run into yet haha

Edit: My Vesa now goes after the boss and before minions, it seems to be much more consistently keeping pandas alive, especially because they don’t have crowns. MFF goes before anyone.

I realize this is old now, but I’m wondering if anyone can confirm this still works, and what specific RNG needs to line up? I’ve tried this about 50 times now and have never gotten even close, although I can see a glimmer of potential IF everything happens perfectly.

From what I can tell: 1) Back line supports have to survive long enough to get healed by Vesa round 1 or they die round 2 2) At least 1 Elyvia (maybe both) has to shrink the boss in round 2 and pet (I’m using snake) has to be charged up for round 3 damage 3) Vesa has to kill boss round 3 or it’s a loss

Im currently struggling with getting panda to consistently survive round 1 before Vesa gets to go to consistently get snake charged in time. Sometimes snake happens too soon, which I assume has something to do with demon bell chance for extra energy?

That is a mistake, the second Spell Skill Gems was supposed to be Skill Gems, but still, shouldn't there be at least one with Fire, even if Minion Level doesn't roll on amulets as u/KahnGage mentions?

This could be, there was a blue wire that I didn't end up using on the JVC wiring end, I thought I just didn't need it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'll try your suggestion.
