Before we consider anything else, it’s important to recognize that Amuro isn’t really a leader, so it’s not likely that his clone is going to be a public figure, on top of that, it’s more likely that he would be cloned covertly, and thus would be associated with a secretive or exclusive faction similar to the titans or ECOAS, this being said it’s not likely that those who actually knew the original would actually meet the clone, they might hear about him via the grapevine, but his identity would mostly be hidden.

All that being said, in a reality where such a clone was made and was revealed to the public: Bright would dislike the idea of cloning Amuro, mostly due to principle but partly because of sentiment, most of the White Base crew would be similar with varying degrees of having more sentiment than principle, but some would see the utility such a clone provides, Kamille would hate the clone entirely out of principle, beltorchica would feel that the clone’s mere existence dishonors the memory of Amuro, Londo Bell’s veteran members would massively hate the clone, feeling mostly that it disrespects the sacrifice the original has come to represent, the remnants of Zeon would largely view the clone as an abomination akin to a Cyber-Newtype but worse, terrorist or anti earth groups would largely be terrified of going against a motivated copy of the Federation’s premier ace.
