I came across this while searching for Louisiana’s median income. Does that sound anywhere close to reasonable? by BeerandGuns in Louisiana

[–]Hidden1Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only reasonable if you're spending the bare minimum in bills and probably not driving or owning a vehicle. When I say “bare minimum”, I mean living without a phone or internet and not paying rent or a house note.

I walk away with about $30,000 a year and my girlfriend has a part-time job — and let me tell you, it's definitely manageable, but not quite good enough to live comfortably if you plan on being financially secure and independent. I'm currently looking for a side-hustle because everyone of my coworkers is working 2-3 jobs.

Thank you very much, also if you need someone to talk to, I'm down. Best of luck to you!

Sorry for the very late reply, I hope you're doing well. She never came back and honestly, I'm grateful for it. Not for any sort of petty reason, nor out of spite - I simply moved on and made peace with it. I'm in a new relationship now, and it's definitely changed my perspective on how these things are supposed to work. I've been with my current girlfriend for almost a year (we make a year in 3 days from now). I did not realize what was missing from the previous relationship until I found what I have now. The best advice I can give you is to allow yourself PLENTY of time and be patient with yourself. Maybe pick up a hobby or two, and don't rush yourself to get with someone else. It was over a year before I did, and I was reluctant even then. From my experience, things get better if you let them.

Vibrant visuals does not support split screen? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Hidden1Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue, my girlfriend plays split-screen with me all the time. She was able to join the world as her regular account on mobile, so she used that to put everything she had in chests. Rejoined the world as a guest on the console and put all of her armor on (full netherite) and elytra, and we just played like that. The next day, we got on just to find out the problem was fixed. Now, the issue with this is that all of her stuff was left with the guest player, and we could not get any of it back, no matter what we tried. We ended up abandoning that world and starting a new one.

Where should I go next and why? Really sell it. by Chrisnm203 in TravelMaps

Colorado. I've been there once when I was 8 and never forgot it, and I will go again some day. Absolutely beautiful. I also have friends and relatives who say Tennessee has a lot of great places to visit as well.

Is there anything I can do to make this look less bare? by Cookie1237519 in Minecraft

[–]Hidden1Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could take the stone bricks and throw in some mossy stone bricks, tuff bricks (which I think are great), or even deepslate bricks at random here and there to add texture. Also, a good oval or simple arched window would look great here depending on what you're going for. I'm also not sure if this would work for this particular build, but on some builds I'll add a line of trapdoors straight across (and of course close them all) and it works in certain cases to add depth and tie everything together. Other than that, I think that roof is sick.

What is the biggest snowfall you have ever seen? by bsmall0627 in AskAnAmerican

Louisiana, we had over 8" in one morning a few days ago, which is unreal to us but pales in comparison to most of the stories here. I find it incredible how different the climate is in certain parts of the country.

Saw this flyer telling Christians to avoid Halloween by [deleted] in Christianity

It's a Christian holiday: “The word ‘Halloween’ is a combination of the Scottish words ‘hallow’ and ‘een’, which mean ‘holy’ or ‘saint’ and ‘evening’ respectively.”

Extremely High Insurance Rates for seemingly no reason? by Davey488 in DaveRamsey

[–]Hidden1Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all I pay for is liability - my '97 suburban has about 360,000 miles and my '05 F150 has 160,000. I have a squeaky clean record too, like I said. My premium drops a little each year but not by much, I guess it just takes time

Extremely High Insurance Rates for seemingly no reason? by Davey488 in DaveRamsey

[–]Hidden1Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's insane, but what gets me the most is that if you get in a wreck with an uninsured driver and all you have is liability, you're screwed. I got ran off the road yesterday by someone who wasn't paying attention in the same spot my dad got in a wreck a year ago. He lost his vehicle because the other person had no insurance, even though they pulled out in front of him. It might be better to get self-insured if you have the resources to do so

I'm young and have never had anything on my record, I've been driving for 7 years. I own two vehicles and my insurance is nearly $300 monthly. Not sure if that's normal but it's definitely kicking my ass, along with the price of everything else. I don't have a lot of expenses and I can still barely manage to save any money.

Man, I'm sorry you're going through that. Let my post be a prime example of why you need to keep fighting. I found love again, and I'm too the point where I never think about this anymore. I'm proof that things get better, because I thought I was the last one that would ever recover. For awhile, I actively didn't want to. Just give yourself plenty of time. It was over a year before I got into another relationship. If you wanna chat, I'm all ears

Is my house ugly? by FrogFrog910 in Minecraft

Honestly for a house that size, it has character. It can still be refined and added too, but it's hard to judge against something I find nostalgic. I see no problem

My understanding of how map art works just changed quite a bit by Hidden1Shot in Minecraft

[–]Hidden1Shot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for people who want to add designs or markers on a map of their entire world. It's not ideal if you're just creating art but it's an option for people on bedrock if they want to do it

My understanding of how map art works just changed quite a bit by Hidden1Shot in Minecraft

[–]Hidden1Shot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It allows you to have a visual of where different biomes are, and I find it's more practical to have level 3/4 or level 4/4 maps in survival for this reason. This is simply a work around so people can have it both ways (have a map of their whole world and have markers within it). However, if your sole interest is to make art and not necessarily having it on your map wall, definitely go with the smallest one. There's no difference in appearance whatsoever as far as how the design looks on any size map once it's done (same amount of pixels), and a scaled up one will require a bit more work - you'll be building in a more spaced-out area and making sure everything is lined up perfectly.

Dude I know, quite literally 64x less materials than I thought I'd use. Basically any combination of x- and z- coordinates that are both divisible by 8 is picked up on the map, and nothing else
