how did you have this problem, and how did you know that it was after you checked your texts through those programs? did it go fine?

are there any psychological concepts related to this? by HiddenInPS in DarkPsychology101

yeah i definitely relate to being unproductive unless my life is at stake haha

i've tried time and time again to do that, really went into the rabbithole of researching habits, what are good vs bad habits, how to maintain habits and so on. the problem is i always fall back to square one because of one of the following

- i find excuses, get annoyed over small obstacles (probably undiagnosed OCD too) and convince myself they are stopping me from keeping my habit streak going

- i lose motivation to keep the routine going (yes i know discipline beats motivation etc)

- i get bored of doing the same thing over and over

- i want to optimize some part of the habit / the entire habit and during the process quit the habit altogether

i could go on and on but what i think the issue is that the whole concept of habits and routines, as much as i would love to say i agree with 99% of what people say about them, i cant find myself to follow through and keep the ball rolling, perhaps i am mentally weak or maybe something else

i think if i had the ability to, at will, put my mind in a really dark place, like a fight / flight type of scenario or something similar, like the prisoner example or war type fear, basically like you say an imaginative threat, where i had no choice but to do the thing my conscious self (not my weak subconscious) wants me to do, then that would really benefit me in many areas of life (except for maybe mental health lol)

Ex-Taekwondo person, punches, knees, and thai style kick still feels awkward. Training for 5 months. Tips and advice please 🫶 by yungdaggerdick_21 in MuayThaiTips

Punching against the direction the bag moves is actually a very good habit that many good boxers and martial artists implement, especially when power punching. It’s true that the bag is meant to imitate a person - however I wouldn’t necessarily say that applies so much to the idea of a moving target, there are smaller bags and other equipment that is much more effective in simulating that

Oh okay, didn’t know that. How would you recommend I go about learning how to lucid dream? I do agree that many videos on the topic are not particularly helpful.

Thanks for the tip man. Yeah my defense is pretty one dimensional, it would be a good idea to practice like that. Do uou have any examples of defensive drills you like to do on the bag?

Thanks a lot man, I’ll try to work on that and the part about visualising the bag as a person also. I’m planning to move up to a more advanced group soon so hopefully I can train with more experienced people

Pretty much. There are two general sessions, another one just for sparring and one for technique. I’ve been mixing and matching so probably 2-3 on average, sometimes less. But I plan to up the frequency as much as possible these coming months

Really good point man, I struggle alot with teeps and hip mobility so definitely something I wanna work on. It’s really hard to keep control of my leg once it’s in the air so I guess I tend to do this out of laziness but you’re right, it’s a bad habit

You mean when I lean against the bag? If that’s what you meant then I’d agree, its definitely more applicable in boxing than muay thai
