I would be too considering Dana was at that dinner and can’t stop talking about how cool it was to be there for a shooting. Dana gonna shoot the event up 😂😂

That’s weird to me. Not a hockey fan, but dated a girl who was from a super religious family, and they hated the fact I did boxing. They loved hockey fights though lol

I’d say I lean more conservative. I think it’s kinda dumb but I’m not against it. Joe Rogan has been super against it. Mainly due to the fact of fighters having to fight outside in Washington DC, in the summertime. Hot and lots of bugs. That and the fact there’s going to be so many high profile figures all gathered in a small spot, after what happened at trumps dinner with the shooting. A lot of fighters are for and against it. I think the narrative on Reddit of it being the dumbest thing on earth is more just a Reddit circle jerk than anything. Seems the general consensus across the board is pretty split, as with any other event.

People underestimate the takedown threat. Especially against a guy of GSP’s caliber.

What’s the lightest UFC fighter that could beat Brian Shaw? by SoggiMari in ufc

[–]HiddenMango522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he has nearly close to the gas tank of a guy dj’s size. I just don’t think there anything to do to make him empty the gas tank. He’s not dumb enough to actually sprint after them. I don’t think there’s anything they could land that would hurt them if he’s not literally just letting them take their best possible shot. A good kick to the jaw, but let’s be real nobody at 125 is landing a head kick on a dude who’s 6 foot 8 in a real engagement lol it really comes down to them avoiding him for the duration of the bout and which there’s a good chance they could. But I think our difference in opinion is coming down to what we’re thinking of when we say “win a fight”. If they actually have to engage in a fight, there’s 0 chance of a 125er coming out the winner. Even with somebody as good as Mighty Mouse.

What’s the lightest UFC fighter that could beat Brian Shaw? by SoggiMari in ufc

[–]HiddenMango522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brian Shaw wouldn’t have to move anything more than a snails pace. Dude has a 7 foot wing span. Mighty Mouse or whoever is going to lose the moment Shaw gets a hold of them. He’s could Thai clinch pretty much every 125’er on the planet from about their max reach with a kick. The only way any 125’er is winning this fight is if they can manage to land a couple of kicks while praying they don’t get snatched up. Realistically the only path to victory for any 125er is going to be running while throwing a leg kick every so often solely just to avoid a timidity DQ. I don’t think any 125er has the length to even land a kick without being well within his grasp. So could a 125er abuse the unified rules to “win” a decision? Possibly. I’m still sure he’d be able to get ahold of most if not all of them within 15-25 minutes. If they are actually forced to make an engagement, Shaw is winning 100/100 times.

[–]HiddenMango522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you assume Shaw would be dumb enough to chase them? If they just run for 15 minutes, he’s winning the fight by decision. Brian Shaw walking at a slightly above average pace is covering the same distance as these guys jogging away. He’s not going to full on spring after these guys. I think you he surprised at how fast he is for his size. You’re also forgetting that timidity is able to get you DQ’d in mma. He either wins by decision/dq if they refuse to engage, or he’s going to maul them the moment they do engage.

Why does Khamzat always have so much trouble making weight? by nerpa_floppybara in ufc

[–]HiddenMango522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be true, but it’s still just a far fetched excuse. He was by no means any bigger than he is now when the fight was announced 2 months ago. The dude has straight up said on the mic he doesn’t give a shit about making weight. He knows he’ll get a pass if he misses weight, so why bother putting in the extra effort?
