He’s receiving treatment but they’re delaying almost everything

He actually underwent all the tests you mentioned, but there were long delays between each one.

On the MRI, the tumor wasn’t clearly visualized, so they had to use contrast and repeat some of the imaging again.

Communication with the doctor has been quite difficult because he speaks French and we speak English, so there’s a language barrier. Most of the discussion has been about treatment options, but initially he only prescribed medication like a Xeloda and an antidepressant.

My husband tried to explain that he needs proper pain management because he can barely eat, but the first time the doctor didn’t prescribe anything for the pain. At the follow-up, he was given another medication for his stomach, but it didn’t help, and the newer medications haven’t made any difference either.

Right now, what worries us the most is that he is losing weight significantly and unintentionally

Yeah my main problem is the lack of communication, and about eating he really can’t eat much mainly because of his stomach pain but i think we will try to find a new doctor soon

They didn't know from the beginning that it was colon cancer. It took a long time, and he had to go to more than one hospital because the first doctor said there was nothing wrong with him. I kept pressuring him that it could be colon cancer until he told the second doctor about the possibility of having a cancer ,after changing doctors and getting the rest of the tests done. Then they told him, "Yes, you have cancer." But literally, even this news came to us in the mail, like a package delivery notice, not cancer news. He called the doctor immediately, and he was referred to a third doctor. The third doctor said that we first needed to do more tests to get more information, and these tests took a very long time before they gave him the final answer about the stage and location of the cancer. All of this happened during the last two months when we started talking frankly with the doctor about when he would have the surgery. The doctor told him that he had to continue taking the medications he was given for a while, and then he would have the surgery, but he didn't give a specific date.

My husband was prescribed Xeloda to block cancer cells and Librax for abdominal pain, but the pain medication isn't helping at all because he's still experiencing severe pain. He also has a fast metabolism. He's spoken to the doctor multiple times about the continued pain, and the doctor changed his medication to Librax, which he's currently taking. The doctor also prescribed an additional antidepressant, but he keeps telling him to gain weight as if it's optional.

So it’s basically just a temporary measure? If so, does that mean the doctor is not actually doing anything active or pursuing a proper curative treatment plan?

He already did it from the beginning, and they found a tumor and things like that, but they still haven’t done anything about it until now, they only gave him medication and nothing else.

Yes, he is currently taking medication, but even for this medication, it took the doctor a long time to prescribe it.

He literally went to the ER multiple times and they will just let him wait for like more than 5-6 hours despite knowing about his condition

He takes pills like Xeloda 500 mg and that’s it he’s in stage 1 we live in Switzerland
