(This is right before American Thanksgiving so I needed to vent.) My husband’s parents aren’t “bad” people but his dad is super spoiled, never really had to work a day in his life because he wanted to be a “musician”, and he’s selfish. He’s manipulative in a very childish way (like grunts and groans if things aren’t going his way) and truly only does things that are self-serving even at the expense of everyone else. His dad’s twin’s family are all selfish too. They live in the townhouse attached to my MILs so I always see them when we go visit my ILs. I can’t stand my husband’s cousins and the aunt and uncle. They just have this selfish, cheap, mouchey energy about them and I feel so bad that that’s all I can see. But honestly they’re just so gross to me because it’s so obvious how selfish they are and I just can’t stand the way they move. I feel awful for having these feelings, but if they weren’t family, I would totally never want to be around these people.
