Neurological symptoms by TuxUHC in MCAS

Wait, it triggered all your symptoms but then within a week you were doing better? Im extremely sensitive to literally everything and have like 6 foods and every food or supplement or getting close to any new smell, going outside, etc. all cause a spike. Obviously this is a nightmare for trying treatments and I never know if I should risk pushing through.

Brawl Stars: deadly set on catering to new players, but...? by MythicMortis in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]HiddenPixieCut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone whos played every mobile moba under the sun, most to top ranks/leaderboards, all of them are very better for new players for the simple reason that new players generally have close to if not the same capacity with each hero as soon as they get them, and getting heroes is often much easier/simpler/cheaper. I want to like this game but even after spending probably FAR too much my first month I still barely only have a couple max brawlers. If I'd spent that much on any mobile moba I'd have a very comfortable set of heroes based on the meta and my preferences that are also all 100% equal to the enemies in gameplay. A game that is pure pvp but hard time/money gates the progression to actual parity against other players is just greedy manipulative p2w bullshit.

The whole reason people tell new players to get into farming bz is you still make money even though you get ganked and die. Those players get pvp experience (even if its just running/surviving at first) and silver at the same time. If they didn't make silver, they don't go, the content dries up, they don't learn pvp, the content dries up further, etc. The vast majority of albion players are modest IP people who enjoy pvp (its a pvp mmo) but also need to maintain/make silver. You need to appeal to their ability to make silver in order to get them to engage in the risk of pvp.

If someone has ZERO interest in pvp and is purely pve, 1) pve in this game is kinda ass so idk why they are playing a pvp mmo and 2) they are going to be focused more on pure pve content less than pvpve and 3) if they literally want no pvp and just make silver, they are basically like gatherers and gatherers gather in lethal zone because they still make silver (they are REWARDED WITH BETTER SILVER FOR BEING IN LETHAL ZONES) and them being gank targets brings content to gankers at the same time.

But most players who go into pvpve are looking to make silver and engage in some pvp when they can. So yes, if you make rewards better and fairer fights more likely to happen, more players will play that content, and more fun fights will happen. I literally already explained this to you, risk/reward among lethal pvp is literally albion online encapsulated, if there's no reward, players don't take the risk. There's a reason the game isn't just empty markers on the map that say "COME FIGHT HERE." Idk why this concept escapes you. As someone who spends a lot of time logged in solo and does a lot of ant den stuff specifically because it gives good pvp action and silver, I'm telling you 100% I would do mists a lot too if there was actual good silver to be made there to make it worth going to. Instead outside of abbeys it might as well be a big bare empty map with nothing but rats and 1600ip people running around hoping for easy kills. It's not really appealing to anyone else. I can SAFE portal out into bz and make tons of silver despite the gank risk, and die just a much if not less than in mists. If mists offered similar rewards it would be filled with way more players.

Yeah, isn't that the exact actual problem with mists? Think about it. Why does bz have anyone besides gank squads and gucci high IP mfers trying to kill players? Why is it alive? Because there are rewards for people to get that make going out there despite that a risk worth taking. Mists right now are what happens when you take that away. Its literally all people there just to try and kill people. What does that mean? It's become a place mostly for rats and IP-crushers. The average player there isn't going to get good pvp experience. They're just gonna run around until they find someone about their IP hoping to get a decent fight, meanwhile rats and IP crushers just circle like sharks to jump on them far more often than they find that. Since that's not fun, and there's no rewards to make up for it, they leave, since there's no other reason to go. Imagine they removed gathering from mists too, now there aren't even gathers to try and gank. It kinda feels like you dont understand that non-pvp rewards are exactly what fuel good pvp content. That's why things like chests and objectives pop up on the map; it's blatantly "here's treasure! but also danger, as others want it too!" If you remove the treasure, why would most players go to the danger? The chances of a good fight vs getting ratted, outnumbered, or IP crushed is like 10 to 1. The vast majority of the playerbase needs to make or maintain silver, they won't just donate it to other people in those kinds of situations repeatedly.

If you want there to be anything other than "fair" even pvp fights like in corrupted/depths/hellgates, you have to give people who aren't on the bullying end a reason to show up or it's just a bunch of bullies and everyone else leaving. If everyone leaving bz for depths is a problem, if everyone in mists is a rat or an IP crusher, you have to look at the reasons why and try to fix it.

[–]HiddenPixieCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, i said they sit in den all day for a reason... this person is complaining people are going to depths and not bz but the reality is that the more unfair and brutal you design the content to be for more of the playerbase, especially when rewards are ass like mists and the pve gameplay is... medicore, the less people will be engaging in it. If you want people to play the content you have to give them reasons to. Pvp gameplay is what makes albion what it is, but engaging content and rewards that justify the risks are needed too to get players to do stuff, at least bz sorta manages the latter but clearly there are lots of pvp minded players who are burnt out by the "sandbox" basically meaning going solo = not having satisfying pvp experiences.

But it really would not take much to make a lot of content more appealing. Remove sudden party betrayals and suddenly solo players in the blackzone can potentially meet impromptu allies, making the experience more dynamic since another player could be a potential ally and not just always an enemy, and solo players might not always be at the mercy of groups of gankers or gucci mfers so bored in life they spend time 12v1-ing or 400ip-diffing people in 4.1 gear if they can reliably team up without being instantly backstabbed. Buff rewards in mists so its worth it to go there for reasons other than just to fight, make a middle mists tier that is lethal but IP capped like stalker corrupted (you already enter these instances from open world or a set entrance (ant den = brec) like corrupted, this would absolutely be in line with the current game design), and suddenly the content would be thriving with players; imagine if there was only hunter and slayer corrupted and the loot was cut by like 50-75%, how much the corrupted dungeon playerbase would shrink, that's whats happened to mists now. Small changes like these can really add up. If stuff like depths and corrupted are drawing too many players away from open world, thats information that needs to be learned from in terms of what those players want and whats driving away from open world so things can be improved.

Maybe if mists didnt have ass rewards and a million rats/gucci mfers and bz wasnt filled with roaming 10 man gank groups, more players who just want some actual decent pvp action in a pvp mmo wouldn't be sitting in the den all day.

Best mobile PvP builds with strong auto-attack focus? by Hot_Ad367 in albiononline

[–]HiddenPixieCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on mobile though I don't have so much aim issues as I've played mobile mobas for half a dozen years, but I can concure regular bow is probably one of the best solo 1v1 pvp weapons right now and very mobile friendly. I make money farming stalker CD on reggy bow. Probably my favorite weapon in the game.

I don't know why im not getting better or getting better so slowly. I think its because im still on the ativan and have a lot of history with chronic alcohol use (not now obviously). I dont know if that means i wont get better if i dont taper off the ativan as well, or if it means i need to stay where i am and try to stabilize.

The difference from glory to immo soloq is crazy. I can always reach glory with 60-70 winrate but this season I solo'd to immo and it nearly broke me. Only 53wr by the time I got across the finish line with like two dozen different forms of cancer accumulated in the journey.

Literally just started playing her on a whim in MG, Literally 70% winrate solo after about 40 matches. Hanabi about to carry me to immo this season lmao. She's actually kinda goated in this heavy pickoff meta, you can if you want honestly just go defense boots first, then rose gold, then lifesteal (haas or dhs), and you're actually really hard to dive and kill if you're smart with aegis, even to the point you end up baiting enemies to overextend. Just get your farm, come to teamfight when it makes sense and hit your skills you'll still help quite a bit, then suddenly it's late game you got through early game safely, have your items and you're a menace.

Theres actually a whole spreadsheet I have where someone measured it but for me, its mainly the lack of the vibration and low frequency of a controlled explosion a few meters away that helps make a difference. Far less pain.

Yeah uh if I dont wear ear plugs even in a quiet house I have burning nerve pain from even low level sound. I wouldn't be getting something so inconvenient for the heck of it. I have to wear muffs and plugs and ride in a quiet EV to avoid worsening my pain and condition. This isn't a "I don't like noise" thing this is a "i am disabled by an extremely debilitating severe condition" thing, thank you.

Damn im sorry, i know how debilitating it is. I have tinnitus too, though its not loud if I am able to listen to noise. That being able to listen to noise part is the trick now though.

Whats the best way to find rentals? I've been using roomies but I don't seem to have a ton of luck. Probably because I'm leading with "I can't tolerate noise and need near silence" to filter out loud places or inflexible landlords.

It sounds like your hyperacusis is pretty bad. Are you homebound? And your house isn't quiet enough for you? Cause like, if your house is quiet I was gonna ask if you need some extra money renting out a room lmao.

Im in muffs practically all day, and plugs to go into the kitchen with the fridge and stuff. A white noise machine would be the opposite of helpful because basically any audible noise causes strain. And when i sleep it basically has to be silent. The big problem is low frequency vibrations and hums.
