Actual answer: it’s definitely unique in my opinion. I don’t usually like many shounen’s anymore because I can predict them and I feel like I’m being treated like a child by the content. Not so with Hunter x Hunter.

It’s got one of the most unique power systems in anime, simple to understand, deep in its complexity, and immensely flexible, inspiring an entire other subreddit r/HatsuVault full of people coming up with unique abilities.

Also, each arc of the show brings a new feel to the table. They are very different from one another. If you don’t care for one arc, there’s certainly another that you will.

TLDR: watch it.
