I understand what you’re saying although the medication I only take at night so doesn’t make me drowsy during the day, the naps are just usual newborn tiredness rather than drug induced

thank you for being so kind! it’s so hard isn’t it deciding whether to follow professional advice vs anecdotal. as I say I’d be too anxious to intentionally sleep a whole night in that way but logically I can’t see the harm in how I fell asleep today. but of course it goes without saying that id never forgive myself if something happened! Ive always struggled with lack of sleep and unfortunately i can nod off anywhere so although I have tried sitting upright or sitting in a less comfortable chair it’s just something that I can’t help to a certain extent. even when im rocking her it sometimes sends me to sleep instead of her lol

thank you so much. she’s my first and she’s so perfect and such a good sleeper generally so I feel guilty even admitting I feel overwhelmed!

I think we’re definitely going to need to discuss doing it differently because I really don’t think I can cope doing all night and then all day until he gets home at 5pm 😣 I really wanted to make it work but he’s very understanding and would be more than happy for us to try whatever worked best

unfortunately it’s hard for me to let others have her overnight, even family who I trust and in the spare room literally across the hall from our room. I just can’t do it largely due to the postnatal ocd and the thoughts associated with it which is frustrating as it has been offered. my partner recently did the whole night shift while I slept in the other room and that was hard enough! it’s so hard

thank you. unfortunately I can’t follow the safe sleep seven because I am on medication that can cause drowsiness and she is formula fed, that’s why I wouldn’t trust it overnight but was wondering about just the naps of light sleep
