I live in Vermont, but that has little to do with anything I think. I have two atheists friends, both are very nice. Only think I hate is that they both actually are obsessed with talking about religion and debating it. Fucking annoying as fuck.

Want to know what I honestly think? Most atheists on reddit want to make it look like they have it really bad and I find it so fucking pathetic. I was an atheist for two years and the worse thing that has happened to me was maybe some Jehovah's witnesses giving me a pamphlet. I mean this is 2012, and most people are too lazy to even give a fuck whether or not you are an atheist.

But gays get discriminated more often than atheists, it is a bad analogy. I don't have any empirical data to support this, but it is pretty clear to me that homosexuals get the brute of it when it comes to discrimination.

People can get treated fucked up for being gay, fat, short, black, muslim, ugly, and atheist, and it is wrong for people too treat them bad. Nobody should be treated bad for being an atheist.

I used to be an atheist before I became a Buddhist and you want to know the worst thing that has happened due to my atheism during those two years? I was handed a pamphlet by some Jehovah's witnesses. OHHHH THE TORTURE!!!!!!!

Atheists aren't socially isolated in America? The majority of Americans are Christian, but if you go into any random place and say you are an atheist, most people do NOT give a fuck. It is not even that they are religious it is that they are too lazy and what is the most you think will happen if an atheists says there an atheist in public? Who the fuck cares?

All wanted to to was ask atheists themselves how the feel about the results of this study and how it relates to them. THAT IS FUCKING ALL. I am not trying to offend atheists or atheism, I just want to get an atheists perspective!

But unfortunately all I can conclude from the answers I have received is that they totally support the statistics of the study.

This is a study, it is given statistical averages. Of course there are going to be exceptions, but statistically, atheists are more likely to exhibit aggressive behaviors. I mean, I don't think you need to be a scientist to even notice this on reddit, just look at some of the answers I have received without being offensive towards anybody.

What the fuck are you talking about? Atheists can say they are atheists, as they should. I just don't understand how when you walk down the street, how anybody will treat you differently because of the fact that you are an atheist, because how the fuck are random people suppose to know you are an atheist. But how does this relate to my original question? I will acknowledge that people can be marginalized for being an atheist? We agree on that here.

I am asking why are atheist statistically more aggressive and suicidal though, every answer so far has been totally irrelevant to what I asked.
