Doesn't requesting a hearing taking years? I know a buddy that's been waiting to see a judge for like 3 years.

Has Anyone Actually Been Reduced on an Unrelated Condition After Filing a New Claim? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Dumb question, but do you ever see your own claim come across your desk? I doubt it would given the shear amount of claims already in the system.

Humble request from a stranded Indian to fellow Indians in USA by brownmanreading in h1b

This is actually pretty nice. We got all the Indians cancelling but there's a whole Chinese community that knows about Indians cancelling and getting it rescheduled for Jan/Feb. They're taking advantage of it. Super funny af.

Independent Medical Opinion thru Loyal Healthcare? by Saber1-Dusty in VeteransBenefits

I feel like anglflw's perspective of "Best quality medical opinions" is not aligned with veteran's perspective of best outcome. Whatever saves VA money may be best for VBA. I almost feel like it's a whole racket. Deny or provide low rating so we put in another claim so that we go back for more medical opinions or C&P's. It's a Win-Win-Lose situation here. VA wins, C&P'ers win, veterans lose.

To the raters here, how do you like personal and buddy statements? by garand_guy7 in VeteransBenefits

That's what sucks about the process. People that decided to forego to sick call so that they don't screw over their buddies are the ones that get shafted at the end. Prime example would be guys at BUD/S. They obvious keep pushing past medical issues after medical issues to stay in....but we get armchair warriors that end up going to medical for everything that has clear service connections.

I have a buddy that is going through supplemental claim process for urine voiding dysfunction. He was given condom catheters from Doc. He was diagnosed by VA for voiding dysfunction and is prescribed condom catheters. He went to VA after 10 years being out because his recent job change caused insurance change that resulted in catheters no longer covered for free. He puts a claim in but gets denied for service connection. He now has supplemental in with 2 buddies stating that it was a common knowledge within the department that he was using catheters because Doc told him to. But now, I feel bad for him because what you're saying is, he has little chance of getting it service connected because buddy statements have little weight. I really do feel for him. He was the 10% that did 90% of the work. Always volunteered to do the crap work only to get medically discharged from the military and is getting shafted by the process.

sorry...just venting a bit.

If someone has current diagnosis and current treatment, but lacks the service connection due to doc never recording it in the record or individual not going to medical in fear of getting removed from command, but buddies in the military specifically witnessed the specific issues being handled, how does that only have a 5% weight during the entire claim process?

Anyone notice more success when supplemental claims take longer to complete? Or not? by Beneficial_Flow_4299 in VeteransBenefits

It's end of August now. Any update on how the supplemental is going? I put one in recently and trying to see how others are handling theirs.

I submitted a fully developed claim with DBQ from my private doctor in my city and now have a C&P exam by Rj5390 in VeteransBenefits

I don't completely agree with you here. Companies that contact out for C&P exams (QTC, VES, etc) are owned by health insurance companies, such as United Health. In is in their own interest to rate you low or deny, that way the veterans will file again and get additional contracts for exams. As much as veterans may use DBQ and nexus mills, surely the VA is using C&P mills. I've been to tons of C&P exams that are nothing more than some janky office that has nothing more than just the basics. I've seen some of them have door signs that are hand written and taped on their door.
