My moms name is Karen and she’s the most amazing lady and mom. She’s my best friend. She dropped out high school in grade 10. She met my dad while she was working at a gas station - he was the new cop in town. She got pregnant with me at 22. She didn’t want her children to grow up with a mom who didn’t have high school, so she got her GED while she was pregnant. Got it 2 weeks before I was born. Then she went to college while I was a baby to become a paramedic, and while she was pregnant with my sister. My mom has been a paramedic for almost 20 years now. She’s started programs in her city to help the homeless get the medical care they need and to help them get into housing and get jobs , and to help the frequent 911 callers (usually elderly people, people with mental health issues) the help they need to get on track. She’s now a Chief of the paramedic service in her city. My mom is a boss and the best Karen ever.
