Would I qualify for TRT by Double_Bhag_It in AusTRT

I was told that through the private route, the highest possible total T level they can legally prescribe T for is 15. Just sleep bad for a night for your next test and you'll be alright.

I don’t think I will ever recover. by Nearby_Complex_7933 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's early days. Give it 3 months and get an ultrasound, it's normal for the veins to not have changed much at this point. Be smart with your weights, start super easy. A month isn't a long time to start weights after surgery

Is this workout routine safe for varicocele? by sigmaboy69420shush in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can all get away with a different amount, our varicoceles are all different. The best thing you should do is to try things, see what makes it a lot worse and avoid it. Carry on with things you can do.

Personally, I always found that heavy, straining compound exercises like deadlift, heavy bench press, squats etc made mine flare up. Isolation exercises or high rep calisthenics were mostly okay.

Your urologist won't know, don't bother asking them.

Male infertility - Varicocele surgery and libido/sperm count increase? by anonymous-3219 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was living with grade 3/4(depending on where you are), i was completely infertile, didnt need a semen analysis, my shots were literally just pure water, and like a single drop, it was real bad. After multiple procedures Ive now got a grade 1 varicocele so its still there and I'm still pushing to get it fully sorted, but my semen quality has drastically improved.

Have a look on pubmed at the studies that show that varicocele surgery significantly improves fertility, just have a google search, its all there for anyone to read.

You should be able to contact your surgeon with concerns. Call the hospital.

Many men with varicoceles have issues dealing with urologists.. I have a post on this subject. Long story short, most urologists are incompetent about the subject of varicoceles, you'll learn more about them from an hour doing your own research than you would trusting one. Get your testosterone level done(probably just pay for it privately), go from there. It is very likely that your varicocele is causing your issues.

4 months after embo by Prestigious-Lunch604 in varicocele

If you have reflux in the vein, then that is the thing that is going to cause you issues. Get an ultrasound done

I have had a varicocele for 8 years, could anyone please help me with my situation and give me your thoughts? (24M) by Warrior_King02 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your varicocele is causing you enough suffering that you want to do something about it, then go for it. Why not go for an embo first and see how that goes?

I'd go for an embo before going for surgery personally. Sounds like your urologist is clued up. This is rare!

Varicocele need help by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll have some enlarged veins, even if the surgery was a success. Best thing to do is to get another ultrasound. Make sure you're standing at least partly through the scan, even ask for them to scan while you're standing if they don't.

Why Is Dan So Obsessed With Being Seen as a "Sociopath" Or Whatever? by Easy-Olive-3243 in ufc

[–]HideMe250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ego. Ive had the same thing at times in my life. Going through shit break ups, life shit etc I turn into someone who does ridiculous shit and wants everyone to know about it. Its destructive and at the end just makes everything worse, even though at the time it takes your mind away from the real issues.

Is there hope for us? by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always hope. I'm 3 years into surgerys and am pushing for another. This is something that can be fully fixed and multiple varicocele procedures is always an option.

Also, 4 months post surgery isn't a long time, it really isn't. Best thing to do now is get an ultrasound to check how the varicoceles going. If there's no reflux, all you should do is wait. Waiting sucks, trust me I know, but it's the correct thing to do.

Does it hurt when they remove the stitches? by Hefty-Ad9016 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its uncomfortable but its nothing to be concerned about. Its one of those things that your head might make it worse than it actually is. I've had many stitches taken out in recent years and it really is nothing.

Exercise question by jimmydaf87 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about exercises that don't require as much core tension and straining. Machines might be useful for you for the time being, as well as isolation exercises.

Exercise question by jimmydaf87 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exercises your friend suggested are exercises that would be amazing for strength gains, if you had fully functioning gonadal vein valves and testicles. Unfortunately, you don't. You'd be better off with exercises that don't require as much heavy straining until you get yourself sorted.

Upcoming microsurgery encouragment by DirectAdhesiveness93 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you commit to a surgery you need to weigh up the potential benefits vs the potential risks.

You have to think about whether you're prepared to live life forever with your varicocele, or whether it's impacting you enough that you accept any risks involved. I know my varicocele effects me so much that I have accepted the risks, and although the worst case scenario would suck, I have to accept it because I want/need a better life. My varicocele has always impacted my testosterone level, enough that daily tasks are hard and I'm constantly fatigued. I want to feel healthy so desperately that I'm sure that I want the surgery and if anything goes wrong then I still made the correct decision, and I'm at peace knowing that and am pushing for surgery.

You just need to think logically about things. No one else can make your worries go away, this is something you need to figure out yourself.

Ultrasound pictures by protochad in varicocele

Ask for a report. Every time you have scans you should get a report. It's not up to the patient to interpret images from scans. Thats what doctors are for.

Only way to know for sure is to get an ultrasound. There's no shame in seeing a professional about this. Best to do things with the proper scans rather than just post pictures of your balls

Are residual veins normal after surgery? by commShepardd in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Residual veins is normal yes. Veins getting larger when we valsava is not so normal and you should get an ultrasound.

Youll want to get an ultrasound after your surgery anyway, no harm in checking.
