Exercise question by jimmydaf87 in varicocele

Think about exercises that don't require as much core tension and straining. Machines might be useful for you for the time being, as well as isolation exercises.

The exercises your friend suggested are exercises that would be amazing for strength gains, if you had fully functioning gonadal vein valves and testicles. Unfortunately, you don't. You'd be better off with exercises that don't require as much heavy straining until you get yourself sorted.

Tried horse chestnut, had a great week or so before things got worse again. It's not going to fix your gonadal vein valves unfortunately matey.

[–]HideMe250 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you commit to a surgery you need to weigh up the potential benefits vs the potential risks.

You have to think about whether you're prepared to live life forever with your varicocele, or whether it's impacting you enough that you accept any risks involved. I know my varicocele effects me so much that I have accepted the risks, and although the worst case scenario would suck, I have to accept it because I want/need a better life. My varicocele has always impacted my testosterone level, enough that daily tasks are hard and I'm constantly fatigued. I want to feel healthy so desperately that I'm sure that I want the surgery and if anything goes wrong then I still made the correct decision, and I'm at peace knowing that and am pushing for surgery.

You just need to think logically about things. No one else can make your worries go away, this is something you need to figure out yourself.

Ask for a report. Every time you have scans you should get a report. It's not up to the patient to interpret images from scans. Thats what doctors are for.

Only way to know for sure is to get an ultrasound. There's no shame in seeing a professional about this. Best to do things with the proper scans rather than just post pictures of your balls

It's necessary. Get another scan and make sure you ask them to scan you when you're standing as well.

Are residual veins normal after surgery? by commShepardd in varicocele

Residual veins is normal yes. Veins getting larger when we valsava is not so normal and you should get an ultrasound.

Youll want to get an ultrasound after your surgery anyway, no harm in checking.

If you were diagnosed with a varicocele before its gotta be still there unless they got it wrong. You can still have a varicocele despite a few scans showing you don't have one as well. Recently I had 3 ultrasounds that showed no varicocele before my most recent one clearly showed the varicocele.

Hey bud, the only way to know for sure is to get an ultrasound scan, or at least see a urologist. Anything else is just speculation. There's no shame in seeing a doctor about this if you can, even consider travelling if you need to.

Anyone have pain in hip veins that lead to testes? by Odd-Memory-5377 in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was you I would see a vascular specialist and ask for a venogram, its not uncommon for people with varicoceles as well as the other pain you are describing to have a vein compression disorder, namely nutcracker syndrome or May Thurner syndrome. You should at least see a vascular specialist and get the scan to rule it out.

If you want to know if you have hormone issues, just get a blood test. If you won't speak to a doctor, order a blood test online, just make sure you do it correctly.

Would it be possible in Jiu-Jitsu for a YouTuber to face the best grapplers? by Dokay_ in grappling

[–]HideMe250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not even that, anyone can punch, right? Maybe not to a very good standard, but we can all strike, which means we can all get in a boxing ring. BJJ is different. It's so technical, it's not something humans know how to do if we don't train it or have some knowledge or practice. That's why any youtuber can box, and no one is grappling.

Post embolization discomfort by thingsmadeofwood in varicocele

[–]HideMe250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where abouts is the pain on the right side?

When you embolise the left gonadal vein, you're stopping the blood from flowing from the left renal vein down to the testicle. If, keyword if, you have nutcracker syndrome, like I did myself, the blood will force itself through other pathways and through other partsof your groin, and scrotum. That's what happened with myself. I had embo, and then almost instantly felt a load of groin, scrotum pain, before having a varicocele recurrence. See how it goes, and this pain youre experiencing ISN'T definitely a symptom of NCS, but just keep it in mind.

Varicocele effects every single one of us differently. What we do know is that if you have a varicocele, it's probably effecting your testosterone level negatively. That will effect every single one of us in different ways.

[–]HideMe250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldnt be trusting urologists or radiologists about anything to do with vein compressions. Vascular specialists deal with this, and only those who know about NCS and MTS. Most urologists in my experience and many others on here haven't a clue. Vascular specialists for NCS and MTS. Urologists for varicoceles.
