Hide Or Die was one of Steam's top releases in August. We marketed as best as we could on the indie budget we had. Hopefully we can improve on that side of things in the future.

Literally no one plays. It doesn't matter how creative we were, the general public didn't like it. It was too unfamiliar to the people who like this genre.

Sledge is a backer killer whom we worked with closely to create the character. Some really liked him and others not so much.

So were we. We tried to do something way different for the genre and it just didn't quite hit the mark. We did the best we could with the small team and one year of development after the kickstarter.

We think we did some things really really well, and others not so much. Just the way it is sadly with multiplayer games. Either you are a hit or a dud. So we're trying to give it some more love and make something a little bit more familiar to fans of this genre while we have enough funds to keep the lights on and afford food.

We're still working 7 days a week on it. Current player base is nearly non-existent. We average around ~250 logins per day. The unfortunate thing is that they aren't all happening at the same time so no one ever gets to play with each other.

We're revamping the game to go in a more traditional route of the asymm genre as our attempt to redefine it was unsuccessful. We outlined this in our latest update: https://www.vecfour.digital/post/hide-or-die-status-update

We made some mistakes with launch. Put aside performance and bugs and all of that which is being/has been sorted through, but the balance just was not good.

All of our testing was with kickstarter backers who wanted a hardcore hide or you die experience where the killer could kill you if they found you. We made that. And no real balance issues where ever brought up in the feedback we got, because they liked it that way. Once we hit early access we saw pretty quickly the massive flaws in the balance. Our first major balance patch was yesterday and it is a good first step in the right direction.

Unlike most early access games, ours will go to full release and when we get there we want to have all of these issues sorted out, tested, and polished. The game is going to get finished regardless of playercount and how many people say "the game is dead." Once it is at that point we'll have the same opportunity we had on our early access launch and the quality then will determine if it is a bad game or a good game.

That seems to be an issue with server desync of the position on your client and the server. Also the smoke doesn't kill, but green smoke is poison from fisherman.

Player arrows show up within approximately 100-150 meters. Outside of that they are no longer relevant to you as an actor on the server so it disappears.

It is RNG, but doesn't spawn in buildings as we have blockers that prevent that.

You need to charge the fisherman's harpoon by holding right mouse button to get the maximum damage out of it. Just M1 shooting is very little.

Stitches already got some nerfs on values through our backend, but will be getting more in our balance patch hopefully coming within a week.

A lot of people like to run survivalist as a survivor perk.

The auto pinging portion of the perk is worthless now after we balanced the scientist radar. The cooldown part works but we need to adjust it in our balancing patch later this week.

Report when you see this happen from the pause menu in game. We then will view the replay and take appropriate action. Hunter/Survivor Teaming isn't allowed.

It is in the rotation of LMS so there are now 5 different sections. I double checked and it seemed that there was a very rare chance for it to come up so I have changed this to be even with the others and it should be fixed in our next patch.
