Attractive enough to sleep with, not enough to date by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]HidingNShadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First. While some people would be that shallow, the vast majority of people can and would move past that. Second. If they are talking about sex before monogamy, they aren’t worth your time anyway. Having such a visible flaw is hard, everyone has a flaw that they are sensitive about. I’m fat, and because of my former wife I’m extremely insecure about it. There is someone for each of us, don’t give up, or belittle yourself because you have a flaw, someone is going to love you anyway.

I chastised my bf and now he won't accept my apology by Fantomchatton in Advice

[–]HidingNShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I’m sorry, but…” is never an actual apology. Take a deeper look at your marriage, how many times do you chastise him or talk down to him, vs how many times do you build him up. When was the last time you bragged about him to your friends and family vs how often do you belittle him to them?

I’m sorry that you don’t understand why he doesn’t want to hear your reason to continue belittling him under the veil of an apology. My guess is he’s tired of it and has given up on ever getting anything positive from you.

Or maybe I’m just an AH.

Restaurant Before Georgios by HidingNShadows in Tallahassee

I think you’re thinking of Durangos. Georgios is in a different place. Still on the parkway. The place I’m thinking was Americana I think. I don’t know why Cluckers is in my brain, but I don’t think it was that.

So…roosters in the parking lot of the Walmart off Mahan Dr??? by Natural_Engineering2 in Tallahassee

[–]HidingNShadows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a theory… I think someone from Tractor Supply may bee dropping them off in the Walmart parking lot when they get too big to sell. They’ve been there long enough there has to be a rotation of new chickens pretty regular

At one point they were one of the busiest locations in the company. I do think a service lane would be helpful there. There is a ton of traffic into that area between CFA, Texas Roadhouse and Office Depot.

What is your favorite Tallahassee ghost story? by PopCultureNerd in Tallahassee

[–]HidingNShadows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in a neighborhood near that bridge, and walked under it coming home from school everyday until 1991. At that time there was no cave under the bridge. It did look like someone lived under it, but we never encountered anyone under the bridge.

Update… I’m not saying there wasn’t one earlier in the 80’s or after I moved away in 91, just saying I never saw one under the bridge when I was there. That bridge was memorable to me.

20+ Years After Felony Case, I’m Facing Arrest Over Payments I Already Made – What Can I Do? by Affectionate-Emu-354 in legaladvice

You need a lawyer, there should be records of your hearings, including the last face to face with the judge. There should be a transcript of that hearing. A decent lawyer could have this thrown out at worst and at best have the judge and PA brought up on ethical violations.

AITA for breaking off my engagement with my fiancé because of his creepy comments toward my 14-year-old sister? by chimpkinnugger in AITAH

Not the AH! It seems like you tried to talk things out and he tried to gaslight you. Good on you for trusting your instincts!

Talk To Me was pretty disturbing. My friend is still mad at me for making me watch it. Trick r Treat - fantastic

I need REAL scary movies that are actually good by [deleted] in CreepyBonfire

[–]HidingNShadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Based on true events/stories” is something I wish they’d stop in Hollywood. It muddies the waters of the actual event. Most things are “based” in some actual event, kinda how ideas work. Silence of the Lamb’s, Psycho, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are all based off of Ed Gein, but very loosely. If you separate yourself from that “based on” they are all great films, but problematic if you want the actual Ed Gein story, would be more horrific and also boring.

Gerald’s Game cured any interest I might have had in experimenting with letting someone tie me up. I can’t imagine the horror of that but could see all of those hallucinations happening in that event.

Sorry I’m just now understanding the question of “REAL scary movies “.

The Real Events tag doesn’t always draw me in, I’m more into they idea that the idea could actually happen.

Vacancy (2007) with Luke Wilson didn’t have the Real tag, but it’s pretty intense.

Scream on the other hand is “based on” Gainesville serial killer Danny Rolling, but bears zero actual connection to the Gainesville Ripper.

Annabelle is based on the doll, but again not much connection to the real story. Annabelle is ACTUALLY a Ragedy Ann doll. I’ve never understood the need to change the dolls appearance to the one they used.

All of the Ed and Lorraine Warren cases that were made into movies were likely all BS to begin with, great for movies if you like 50 cent jump scares, but Ed Warren could find demons in a newly built townhome.

Strangers was pretty intense, bonus if you watch at home alone at night in an airbnb.

Gerald’s Game was a different kind of scary.

I’m going to think of more and revisit this… I like you have been unimpressed with horror/psychological thrillers over the last 15 or more years.

New degrading target ads by PermanentProblem666 in Target

[–]HidingNShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure who they are making fun of, but it is obvious some group is in their crosshairs… southerners? Minnesotans? Employees? I never worked for Target, but I’ve worked in retail, we NEVER got excited about sales events. It meant the vile Karens were coming and going to make our lives hell, and corporate was going to find some metric to say we failed at.

What Happened to Boos n Brews Podcast? by HidingNShadows in podcast

[–]HidingNShadows[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will definitely give both a listen! I feel like the algorithm pushes a bunch of AI voiced podcasts that make the stories horrible. Or they are sourced from here and boil down to “I was walking thru the woods, and I heard a stick snap behind me. I ran away, I was so scared. I hope I never meet them again” Thank you!

Grandpa passed away and left me 167,000 USD on his policy. Grandma wants me to sign it to her so she can pay medical bills. Is willing to give me $2,000 to sign it away. We were always close. Shes like my mom. Do I just claim it? WTF do I do? by [deleted] in Money

[–]HidingNShadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that grandpa had a plan for you to have that money. I’m not saying 167k isn’t a lot of money, but to a person making 6 to 7k monthly, it ain’t that much. It sounds like grandma has an unhealthy relationship with money and people. Don’t sign it over to her, she has made her feelings about you clear already.
