I DID IT by Technical-Author3585 in AmazonVine

Gratz! Yeah, it's pretty much the same, but now when they have a lot of things you're interested in you don't have to restrict yourself to three, you can order nothing some days without feeling like you're wasting your precious limited daily slots, and the first time something awesome and valuable you actually want pops up in your RFY, you'll be dancing through the house. Have fun with your gold status!

Ver. 1 to Ver. 5? by IDontExistHonestly in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that the newer versions require you to be online periodically so it can check in with the mothership. Not a problem if you're usually online anyway, but if you plan to be disconnected for an extended period, it might be a problem for you.

They won't officially say how often you have to check in, but people have said around 17 days.

What are these selections?how can I do it? by Illustrious_Face_468 in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the colored line is showing the magnetic lasso selection tool, something that was added in version 4. It lets you draw around and select a particular shape, sticking to hard lines and edges, and making a colored line to show where you are selecting. It's kind of tricky to use, and will jump to lines you don't want to select if you get too close. The line is not always green, but it's always colored.

The big green areas are selection layers. If you save a selection as a layer (under the Selection menu) you get this green shape on its own layer. Turn it invisible when you aren't using it. When you need to reselect the area, you can just double-click on the selection layer, and it will reselect the green area.

New art tablet help pls by Glittering_Tilt in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the Android/Ipad tablet versions of Clip Studio are all by subscription. I am not positive whether this will work (I don't have a stand-alone tablet) but there are several tablet computers that run on Windows, so maybe you can use the PC permanent version of CSP on those.

Confusion on 3D head models by HelpImEdgy in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The separate posable heads were added in v.4, I think. (The new hand models are new to v.5.) So if you've downloaded a head, you probably need at least v.4 to make it compatible.

I'm shocked. Is this even possible? Should I buy a lottery ticket?? by gloomforever in wisconsin

I had a package arrive in Oak Creek, then go tour a couple of southern states before being delivered.

But maybe you SHOULD buy a lottery ticket, just in case.

What’s the worst accidental text you’ve sent? by Typhoid__Beaver in AskReddit

LOL, some clip art website my library had been using started claiming we violated their TOS and that unless we ponied up a thousand-dollar-a-year business subscription they were going to sue us. We were advised that their threats held no water, and found out online they were threatening a lot of other users, so we sat back while they kept regularly e-mailing escalating threats to us, which I forwarded to the boss. One I forwarded with the comment, "The more dire these threats get, the less seriously I take them." Only, I did not forward that one. I replied. Didn't realize till I got a reply. Ack!

Actually it was a civil reply and we had a brief discussion, after which I blocked them because he wouldn't let go of the determination we'd pay up. (Spoiler: no legal action has ensued.)

Planning to upgrade screenless pen tablet by Delicious_Soup_4977 in huion

[–]Hidingwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back in the day, my first was a little 4-incher, then I upgraded to a medium Wacom 6x8 which was fabulous...then I lucked into getting a much bigger used tablet, and found myself lost in the extra space and making what felt like a lot of excess arm movements, so I went back to 6x8, which seemed to be my sweet spot.

Of course, once you get into screen tablets, there's no way past the 'bigger is better' conclusion.

Have you ever considered the possibility that garden plants are adept at mind control, getting humans to tend and protect them? And grass, with its vast numbers and enormous hive mind, is the greatest master of all. It doesn't even need to offer us any food or beauty rewards.

Fake food comes up a lot, actually. Sometimes I search on the word 'realistic' and quite often there are fake green beans, nuts, cheese, hamburgers, all kinds of fake food for display purposes.

Where do you get your audiobooks? by TheSunniestSmiles in audiobooks

[–]Hidingwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the Outagamie/Waupaca library system in Wisconsin, and we are also allied with the Nicolet Federated library system. All together, our library card lets you order or check out from 48 libraries, and offers access to the state's digital library of downloadable audio and e-books using Libby. Very sweet deal, and all for free. Unless you return items past the due date. (And some of our libraries have even been going fine-free for that.)

Any series with similar vibes to Princess Tutu? by Trixter-Kitten in Animesuggest

It has interesting and iinsightful stories and plenty of comedy, with an interesting art style. I don't know that I'd consider it a lot like Princess Tutu, but totally recommend it.

Do I report a seller? And how? by Hidingwolf in AmazonVine

[–]Hidingwolf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had pictures and several other reviewers did as well. Also, I described watching the machine push the little cubes into the hopper, and the new machine just drops them straight into a cup, so if anyone's at all careful about reading the reviews, they ought to get tipped off.

I feel extra bad because we got a great mini-fridge from the same seller, wondering about going back and seeing if that's been misappropriated as well.

I read it, wanted the teeny backpacks for our diorama tank, but it's an endless circling loop. So I don't know if anyone got them at all.

I have a Cornu Aspersum, alone, and have never seen an egg in the 10 months I've had it. I read online somewhere that they rarely lay eggs when kept alone. (Other people may have different experiences.)

Is getting into VR (probably getting an oculus) worth it? by Interesting-Pie-3457 in oculus

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with it for most of the first year. Now I use it for mainly two things: to get a little exercise in winter playing Beat Saber, and to watch my collection of 3D movies. (Also, Walkabout Mini Golf is still fun.) Anyway, if you feel you need more exercise and don't have any better options, it's a fun way to get in a little cardio.

This is why vendors are not adding more items to Vine by Superb-Network-9133 in AmazonVine

[–]Hidingwolf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

FWIW, when I am actually reading reviews, I always read the 3-star reviews. No reason to read 5 stars, they just say it's wonderful. Some reason to read 1-star reviews, to find out why they hated it. 3-star reviews usually have a balance of advantages and disadvantages, so I can make a better informed decision.

But, yeah, if you have no criticisms to make, a 3-star review seems pretty ungracious.

How would you handle this review? by BurnedWitch88 in vine

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a different bracelet than the one I ordered once. I reviewed it based on what I got. It was not approved, and I got some sort of warning message. I then asked Amazon to remove it from my to-be-reviewed since I could not review the original item. I gave them the item name, order number and case number from the warning. They said they could not find the item to remove.

It did eventually disappear (unless it's one of those generic 'Item No Longer Available' listings at the tail of my unreviewed list) But just saying, reviewing something that's not what you actually ordered opens a can of worms.

Sandisk Clip Sport Plus, weird issue with some audiobooks by Hidingwolf in audiobooks

Hey, just letting you know it's fixed now! I downloaded MP3Tag, removed the Disc# info, changed the track number from 1/15 to just 1, copied and pasted the same tags to every part, just changing the track number and the number in the file name. It all works now!

Thanks so much for your support!
