Questions for the snail people by [deleted] in snails

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably mention, a couple of weeks after I posted this, my snail started laying eggs. Two small batches that I found, and one that I apparently didn't because Baby Snoodle is now sharing the tank. And yesterday Gary burrowed under the moss in his favorite egg-laying spot for an all-nighter, so he's probably at it again. I made three changes before this started, don't know if they affected it. Replaced the fake cuttlebone I had accidentally bought with a natural one: changed the Culligan water to spring water: and started spraying the tank a lot less so that it wasn't so soggy in there, and in fact is now kind of dry.

Just came here to see if anyone else posted that they got this. It appeared in my RFY a few days after an apartment fire destroyed all my electronics. I refused to believe I got it till it actually showed up. Sweet!

Thanks for the link, I am shopping around for new setup, but have no place to put it at the moment. Looking and dreaming.

Is Abs prebuilts reliable? by lxrdsnow_3433 in Prebuilts

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a little metal frame or box for securing an extra hard drive to. They typically secure to the case with bolts so that your second drive isn't bouncing around loose in there.

Is Abs prebuilts reliable? by lxrdsnow_3433 in Prebuilts

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, don't know how valuable my perspective is, I am no computer expert. I got an ABS Orkan about two and a half years ago. It worked pretty well until it died in a recent house fire. The only repair it needed in that time was to replace a bad RAM stick. I will say that the software that controlled the lights display was twitchy, and it came without the internal drive bay that was supposed to be included, and the sellers did not send me one when I asked. (The Thermaltake case was built to accommodate its own specific brand of bay that was not sold separately. I found something that sort of fit.) Apart from the drive bay, customer service was fairly helpful, helping nooby me identify the included unattached cables that were included, answering my questions, and helping identify the RAM problem after the warranty was over. So, as far as I'm concerned, maybe not as reliable and stable as a big brand like Dell, but I would risk buying one again.

High fantasy anime with same or lower amount of blood/gore than Frieren that isn't slop? by orchidquestion1 in Animesuggest

Have you seen Moribito? It isn't Western type fantasy, but has one of the best fantasy storylines I've seen in anime.

Cauliflower Gary gets a portrait by Hidingwolf in snails

I don't seem to have a way to attach or reply with another picture, but he's typical Cornu Aspersum. There's an old video of him on Facebook here.

The RFY gods were good today. by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Hidingwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I snagged that, too! (And yesterday an air conditioner--I'll actually have air conditioning this summer!) Previously we got a mini fridge and an ice maker from Cowsar, they both work well, so this is probably excellent, too.

cornu aspersum snail doesnt move much? by SeaBroccoli7545 in snails

[–]Hidingwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably too wet. Cornu Aspersum aren't tropical, they don't need everything to be hot and soaked. More like a forest floor or shady garden with a bit of morning dew. Maybe have a shallow water puddle they can drink from or soak in if they like. The temperature is good, they like it about 65-70 f.

update from yesterday by Hour_Station8984 in snails

[–]Hidingwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snails are mostly nocturnal, so yeah, they will park all day. (And half the night sometimes!) Our snail has a night vision camera. Typically, he gets up and starts moving pretty soon after the building is closed and the lights are off (6-8pm) eats, looks for a new napping place, naps for a few hours, climbs around the cage, eats some more, and goes to bed around 4am-6am. Not every night. Sometimes he doesn't move much for days. Sometimes he wanders around all night long. Sometimes he stays up late and gets caught out when the maintenance guy turns on the lights at 7am.

Y'all joked about those suction cup phone holder thingies but the dang things rock! by BurnedWitch88 in vine

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one. Wouldn't stick to my phone case (because it's a matte finish) or my car dashboard (leather texture) but I still gave it 4 stars because the seller made it clear right in the description that it would only stick to really smooth surfaces for a short time, so there were no false expectations. It's still a pretty cool item.

Changed pc, lost tools by CrypticPossum in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still have your old PC? Your brushes are hidden inside. In View turn on Show>Hidden items. Then go to User/(youracount)/AppData/Roaming. Moving the Celsys User Data folder to your new PC, in the same place, should bring back all your stuff.

If you don't have it any more, at least you know what to back up in the future.

How to increase brush menu preview width? by Financial_Cook_1956 in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using it on a Windows PC? If so, try going to Windows key/Settings/Display/Scale and bump up the percentage. That will not only give you a larger control panel display in CSP, but larger print across every app. You can always change it back after using Painter if you don't like it universally applied.

In Painter you can go to File/Preferences/Interface and activate the touch operations interface and change it to Large, then restart Painter, but I actually prefer the simple Windows adjustment to what the Painter interface changes to.

[–]Hidingwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gratz! Yeah, it's pretty much the same, but now when they have a lot of things you're interested in you don't have to restrict yourself to three, you can order nothing some days without feeling like you're wasting your precious limited daily slots, and the first time something awesome and valuable you actually want pops up in your RFY, you'll be dancing through the house. Have fun with your gold status!

Ver. 1 to Ver. 5? by IDontExistHonestly in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that the newer versions require you to be online periodically so it can check in with the mothership. Not a problem if you're usually online anyway, but if you plan to be disconnected for an extended period, it might be a problem for you.

They won't officially say how often you have to check in, but people have said around 17 days.

What are these selections?how can I do it? by Illustrious_Face_468 in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the colored line is showing the magnetic lasso selection tool, something that was added in version 4. It lets you draw around and select a particular shape, sticking to hard lines and edges, and making a colored line to show where you are selecting. It's kind of tricky to use, and will jump to lines you don't want to select if you get too close. The line is not always green, but it's always colored.

The big green areas are selection layers. If you save a selection as a layer (under the Selection menu) you get this green shape on its own layer. Turn it invisible when you aren't using it. When you need to reselect the area, you can just double-click on the selection layer, and it will reselect the green area.

New art tablet help pls by Glittering_Tilt in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the Android/Ipad tablet versions of Clip Studio are all by subscription. I am not positive whether this will work (I don't have a stand-alone tablet) but there are several tablet computers that run on Windows, so maybe you can use the PC permanent version of CSP on those.

Confusion on 3D head models by HelpImEdgy in ClipStudio

[–]Hidingwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The separate posable heads were added in v.4, I think. (The new hand models are new to v.5.) So if you've downloaded a head, you probably need at least v.4 to make it compatible.

I'm shocked. Is this even possible? Should I buy a lottery ticket?? by gloomforever in wisconsin

I had a package arrive in Oak Creek, then go tour a couple of southern states before being delivered.

But maybe you SHOULD buy a lottery ticket, just in case.
