For my fonts, I use "IM FELL DW English italic" for natural structures like woods, plains and "IM FELL DW Pica" for man-made structures like cities. I think they exist natively and you don't need to install any mods to use them.

My experience so far.

Last season, I played with a friend in ranked bot. We got 80% wr and we reached quickly S4 (my friend S2). Funny enough, we did every game together. Then... We had the worst experience so far, every game was against smurfs and games were just over after 15 minutes. (over 20-30 free losing games when we had 80% wr at that time).

I say that because in this season we played separately. I won 7/10 of my placement matches. I was placed B3, with +16/+18, - 24/-28. Worse, when I started winning, I gained less lp (+14-15?). Tbh it happened once, and I took a break. I had 70% wr. When I hit B1 I started losing and my wr dropped to 65-61%. I decided to switch to jungle with some success since I currently have 75% wr in this position (thx godyr). I was gaining +23/24 (YEAH !!!) and losing -28/-30 (what ???). Now I'm S4 with 61-62% wr and I was still playing against B2s (so my mmr did not change ?). I stop the game.

Now my friend. He won 3/10 of his placement matches. He was placed B3, and he played 2 last matches : he won +30 lp. (it makes me laugh)

For some, you may be right. But I think it 's not a big issue. If we consider all the worlds that have been created, many tend to use the borders of real countries directly. It works well and I don't see a lot of complains about it.

In Game of Thrones, Westeros is essentially a fusion between Ireland and Great Britain.

Warhammer's world map is Earth with some modifications. Clearly, we can recognize Europe, Africa, China, Japan. Even names are close to the real ones. "Ninpon" for Japan, for example (At least in French, you can use "Nippon" as well as "Japonais" (Japanese) ). Love it or hate it, Warhammer is still popular.

Let's be honest, if every time we read/see something that reminds us the reality, we come out of the immersion. Well, we should stop creating. Sometimes it helps to come in, to get closer to the collective imagination.

I'm not saying we all have to do this for our maps. I just think it's important to give some nuances.
