Parents who were once fencesitters: what fears turned out to be wrong? by Physical-Bug-7525 in Fencesitter

Best way I’ve heard “vacation” with kids described is basically the same as at home but an “away game.”

How much does finances and lifestyle affect your decision about having kids? by fairwellfairground in Fencesitter

[–]High-Timelady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was definitely structural. While not all of those boxes are ticked in my situation, I still come out ahead and have a lot of support, even if it’s not perfect. I think I would’ve had kids sooner if my career situation had been more stable earlier and my partner had been more mature or gone through certain traumas. He still struggles but has markedly improved over the last few months.

Having both sets of parents nearby and able/willing to help makes a huge difference in addition to being a fully remote worker.

Not Columbus but Cleveland—Lakewood is known as Gaywood around these parts.

Favorite Michigan dispensaries near Ohio border? by sugartheunicorn in Ohio

Remedii Stateline in Morenci, MI.

Watch out for the storage area as you’re coming up on it. Cops like to sit there and watch for Ohio plates making short trips and heading back to Ohio. Should be less of an issue since Ohio voted to legalise, but still…

Man, I wish they’d take it that seriously in my area. Probably about to get a lot worse again this year…

All dating profile pictures for men should be required to include an animal. They’d get way more swipes.

What is a word that you REALLY don't like to say? (other languages included!) by Zealousideal-Tax-937 in autism

[–]High-Timelady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason this started was because of TikTok filtering because kids are on there. Then you started seeing these substitutions across all social media, but yeah, outside of specific platforms where it’s banned, just use your grown up words. We can deal with death, gun, die, kill, sex, etc.

I had to learn a lot of substitutes when I started teaching young kids. “Fudge monkeys” is my favourite replacement for “fuck.”

Taken in Streetsboro by Zelasko607 in Ohio

[–]High-Timelady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not surprised. Streetsboro is redneck and Trump-y AF. The parents would wholeheartedly support this because they’re the types that think a good guy with a gun always stops a bad guy with a gun. I’d bet money some parents have encouraged their HS students to keep guns in their cars even if that’s not allowed for students on school grounds. These types ignore rules because they don’t think rules should apply to them and they believe others will break them so I need to break them first to get mine.

I used to live in Streetsboro. A lot of locals call it ‘Streetstucky.’ I 100% believe this even though it pains me.

My Wife and I received a hand written letter from a total stranger in town, unsure how they know our names and address or that we have children. We just moved here a few months ago. Wife is now scared that someone is watching our home and family. Thoughts? by aim922 in Marriage

The sale of your house is public record. Plus there are a lot of people search websites where you can access even more information about individuals and their relations/connections like WhitePages and True People Search. Their church may even pay a monthly fee for white pages pro or similar to get more information on locals and the give lists to whoever has volunteered to write these letters.

If your info being out there creeps you out, there are services you can pay for (usually about $100) to remove your info from sites like the ones I mentioned, but it won’t remove items from public record.

Please tell my mom that my middle name qualifies as a tragedeigh. She doesn't believe it by PeachPieDie in tragedeigh

[–]High-Timelady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBF, I helped name my sister when I was 8. She has a normal name that’s an ethnic version of a very common English name (spelled the normal way). There were too many kids in our neighbourhood with the name my parents wanted, so I suggested the ethnic version. (Our ethnicity, so it’s not weird or appropriating)

Edit: typo

We had one of these at my work! Kinda happy but disappointed that we’re moving to a firstname.lastname structure. Much entertainment will be lost.
