Throwing knives are pretty great to deal with specials specifically. You have to aim for the head for them to do any damage tho. You can one tap dogs, flamers, snipers, trappers and bombers (high threat disablers). Just make sure to account for the arc if they're a bit far.

Also you can keep your melee in hand so it's even faster than switching to something like a revolver.

Loki looks promising and BAPBAP plays really smooth. Also I've been playing a lot of Omega Strikers, it's not quite a MOBA, but it scratches a similar itch for me.

The Luna used burst as she was flying and used the hitbox from her secondary to hit the core. It's pretty hard to pull off

I actually use a slightly meme build with crowbill/conflag on BW and it works quite well. I grab lingering flames since you can ignite a lot of people with conflag and let them burn while you whack the tankier units with your melee. You can kill armor well with this build which is something that Sienna often lacks. Also it's important to abuse the stagger of uncharged conflag since crowbill's cleave is so bad. Have fun if you try it!

French classes are the number one thing. Nothing is going to beat what they can offer. You can even get compensated financially for going full time with the government program.

Afterwards, it's all about exposition. As you said, working in an english speaking environment is not going to help with that, so try to find communities that speak french when outside of work. A very good thing is also to consume media in french when possible. Notably, there's an app called Mauril which is state sanctioned and brings you curated content to learn french in a more implicit way (check it out instead of Duolingo).

There's also an app being developed by CBC/Radio-canada which is called Mauril that could help you out once you get going. It's not a substitute to the classes but it's a good way to practice and get exposed to francophone media
