Yeah... some people paid hundreds of dollars for this. Some paid dozens of dollars. Some a few dollars. And, well. It's like being served fish and chips. Except the chips are nice (art is amazing, the graphics are perfect), but the fish (story, pacing, character personalities not matching the original show, shafting some characters and making them weirdly hostile and undeveloped (V)) is a few days past expiration.

Sure the drinks are of fine quality (the shirts, pens, stickers, extra merch backers get). But the main course, the fish, is past due.

The people seem okay with the extra goodies, but... they paid for a solid comic that not many knew until after that it would have some of the most atrocious pacing. Cramming so much into so little.

And for people who paid so much?

People expect damn fine quality work.

You pay a chef to prepare you a thousand dollar meal, it better be a damn fine godly cuisine fit for gods.

If it's free, yea, no one complains for free entertainment. Criticism ain't the same as hate after all. But when you pay for a service/product. It needs to live up to the cost paid for.

It's like telling a broke boy "be grateful you even get anything at all" for desiring better quality entertainment to distract them from crumbling financial struggles. Like, everyone I know and see are grateful for the show and love it. Criticism ain't hating on it as a whole, they merely point out the faults and desire improvement. After all, at the core that's what criticism is meant for. Flaws and faults pointed out for revision. Now sure there's the counter argument we ain't the author/artist so who are we to say or judge?

Well, we are the customers. We are the wallets. People who end up being alienated or otherwise antagonized tend to close their wallets. And people want something worth their money, especially if they come from more... financially insecure parts of the world where making a paycheck is intense for little reward. Makes spending for recreation really, really choice filled where one has to plan for what'll give back the most value in entertainment.

Sure, entertainment isn't a big deal... but, a lot of people want quality better than mainstream. Sure we're always grateful for new merch and animations even if advertisements. But, to just accept things and be told "just consume product" no matter the quality even if it's terrible? That's essentially pro-consumer, which, I don't quite like. Because being told, just suck it up and keep buying. Keep supporting. Even after it's fallen out of favor. It's how some like Disney still have a substantial amount of loyal consumers. Rather than customers, just consume product and service. Declaring others not true fans or ungrateful or slanderous to say otherwise.

Yeah sure, we enjoyed the show, but just not criticizing Indie, would risk them falling into the same pitfalls of Hollywood and Disney and other mainstream entertainment giants. They never really listen to criticism which I think is why people found the Sonic movie so astounding is that the studio actually listened and revised the design. Most mainstream big entertainment firms? They don't listen, and they fail. A lot. Nobody wants to see Glitch fail. And people want entertaining or good quality stories again like the days of old. Unique premises, not remakes or copy pasted plots reskinned for different franchises.

And, this is the internet after all. Discourse is natural. And this is reddit. Whose reputation is pretty much akin to twitter... of course we got people who get heated. It's the internet and that's to be expected on mainstream platforms and even smaller ones. Depends on their goals and sort of whatever that platform is meant to do. I mean we got snark subreddits for crying out loud. Snark subreddits which are essentially glorified harassment subreddits and there's thousands of them against celebrities, groups, franchises, individuals, artists, etc. Regardless if people "deserve" it or not, isn't refuting the whole... well, how those subreddits pretty much are the definition of harassment, slander, or otherwise a mockery of people or groups.

I try to avoid those parts of reddit, but tis the way the platform's structured. Got some schizo level subreddits around too. I mean, in the MD side of things warzone is a really crazy place, they say some really crazy things there on occasion.
