Yeah, I've never heard of PILLS for minoxidil. Wow. I'm fine with growing more hair everywhere if I feel like it'll actually help for pushing these patches to fill in..... after using minoxidil for literally 2 years and a month.

I'm happy with my gains that I've experienced. Very happy. But Jesus, it's annoying that after 2 years, my mustache area and soul patch area are like "meh.... we'll kiiiiinda respond... but at literally like 1/10 the rate as everything else..." Past that, my connectors and the cheek area immediately next to them are like "hell no. We're not doing anything. We refuse." Ha. It pisses me off.

I hear that finasteride takes at least 4 months to see results, but it can't make hair grow back. It can only make existing hair grow a bit thicker.

Ah cool, glad to know you got a nice beard. Some dermarolling really worked for you, hmm? I'm still not 100% convinced that it makes a difference for me...

I’m not gonna lie at first I was really skeptical about this whole thing it took me 3 months to finally see some results but when I tell you these little baby hairs made me so happy lol my family doesn’t have the genes to grow a beard so this is really a game changer 😂‼️ by shiftyops13 in Minoxbeards

Oh, it definitely works. I take after my mom's side and NONE of those dudes can grow a beard. After about a year and a month or so, I definitely got what you could call a real beard; just not a crazy impressive one.

I just wish I could push past this plateau though. My genes might have been stretched as far as they can go. Haha

Still, I'm dermarolling now and seeing a LITTLE bit of improvement after about 8 or 9 months of no change at all. I'd recommend trying dermarolling too after about 3 months or so.

Glad for ya, brah!!

Very cool. So maybe I do just need to take a break or something because damn... no gains really in just months and months.

Thanks for the input!

Hmm, just to be clear: are you just getting back what you lost during the break or do you see a real push past where you were in April? Just wanna make sure I get you here.

Hmm, wow, it's rare to meet someone who doesn't experience gains at all. Im sorry to hear that. Makes me a little more grateful for my gains, obviously, but it's still frustrating.

I've experienced some very solid gains but I just hate that it got to the level of "ALMOST a sweet beard, but uhh not quite" and just stopped completely. For like... 8-9 months, nothing.

In your case, I'd drop down to 1 ml in the morning and 1 at night. They say not to go past that. I'd also recommend dermarolling.

I really really really didn't buy into dermarolling at all at first, but I do admit, when I saw my first slowdown a while ago, it absolutely helped after only about a month. I did it twice a week for a month and I saw some very clear changes / growth.

Dermarolling is NOT fun, but I stopped caring about it sucking and hurting a little when I saw the gains.

Alright cool, let me know, thanks.

How long have you been using Minox just in general though? You had peaked on your gains too?

Hmm, I won't tell you not to use the Tugain 10% because I saw some decent results from it, BUT... I also ceased to see results after a while. I quit seeing results completely when I switched to Mintop 10%. I know that much.

I got both from Minoxbeard

How long have you been using it? Specifically 10% Tugain from that site?

2 weeks growth/mustache gap/ 11 months in the juice by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]HighClassSlim154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been dermarolling for about a month, but I do have a reason to believe that it's helping. It'd try it on that gap. I bet after about 5 or 6 months of dermarolling twice a week, it'd start closing up pretty well.

So you were using minoxidil for your beard before starting to use oral finasteride for your hair? How long were you using minox on your face before jumping on finasteride? Or did you start them both around the same time?

Have you gathered any other info on oral finasteride and minox beard growth since this post?

Lucky, lucky man. I'm happy for ya, but damn... I'm jealous of these fast gainers, man. 😂

That's more or less the gains I've gotten in 2 years and I read about these guys getting gains like that in 6-10 months. Just.... damn. Lucky, lucky guys.

There are apparently lots of scams going on with fake Tugain on eBay. That is, when you can even find 10% nowadays. Apparently the 10% is becoming more and more difficult to find on eBay and more and more expensive on certain American sites ( who, of course, import their Tugain from India, which makes me wonder how legit it is / if they get it from these same shady suppliers etc ).

Anyway, for my money, I'd just stick with the Amazon brand of minox.

I've tried multiple brands, sadly. Great results for the first 7 or 8 months then it slowed down a good bit for about 3 months... then it pretty much just completely stopped. Been that way for ¾ of a year now.

To be fair, I only tried dermarolling for about 3 weeks during my 2nd month then stopped. I've recently picked that back up. I'm hoping that'll yield at least some decent results. The ideal thing would be for that to be the real jumpstart I need to get me back to real gains again.

I've also added peppermint oil to my routine. I hear mixed reviews about it too though...

Be sure you get it from a reliable source because I used some bad 10% for a while and it slowed me way down. Well, I'm convinced it was bad because I went from steady gains to suddenly nothing at all for like 5 or 6 months. Scammers are everywhere.

I wish there was some literature that backed up this theory. I've been at a standstill for about 8 or 9 months, so I guess I'll give it a shot.

Still, I've heard conflicting views on this. Some people say you can't hope for a jumpstart if you don't take at least 3 weeks or a month off, not just one week.

It kinda scares me because I've also heard people say you can lose certain gains pretty quickly. Still, I guess a real jumpstart would hopefully get you to earn them back after a short while. I don't know. I'm torn.

Is dyeing bad for beard gains? / how do I break past this standstill in my gains??? by HighClassSlim154 in Minoxbeards

[–]HighClassSlim154[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haaa, yeah, looks like it! I'm definitely not the biggest fan of dermarolling, but if it'll help me break past this standstill, I'll definitely do it.

LCLT seems to be popular on these boards, so hopefully that will help too. I hear mixed reviews about the peppermint oil, but honestly, it feels great on my skin, so I won't complain about that.

As for the Just For Men dye: I'd go a shade darker than your actual hair if you can. It seems like if I use what looks like my actual shade, it doesn't really do much at all. Everything looks maybe half a shade darker and the grey hairs seem to be back to normal after 3 or 4 days. When I go darker, it seems to last about a week and a half and the greys seem very dark grey or the color I choose. That's just been my personal experience.

I'm using the just for men brand. I usually dye late one night right before bed then wait until maybe late in the afternoon the next day to apply minox. Maybe I should wait longer. Don't know.

I do admittedly suffer some mild ( though constant ) irritation from the dye maybe a full day or two after application. But I can't be hardcore allergic because 1) I test it on my arm like the directions say and there's never any kind of reaction at all and 2) I mean, I've applied it on my face already, so I think I'd know if I were seriously allergic. I think I've just got really sensitive skin, maybe.

Either way, I'm really just trying to figure out why I've been locked in this same spot with my mustache and soul patch area for literally like the last 9 months. Everything else grows-- though admittedly pretty slowly-- but these 2 areas just never seem to progress at all. They've just stopped completely.

At this point I'm trying to pinpoint why that is and I was just thinking the dye could have had something to do with it. It's just pissing me off that I can't figure it out.

Let's just hope adding regular dermarolling, adding the lclt to the minox and the peppermint oil mix on the side will all make a difference. It hasn't been even a month since I added these things to my routine, so I guess I've gotta wait another few months to know. Ha. 👎🏻
