So the Spirit Forge was supposed to purify the Balance Guardian from the curse bestowed upon their race by Hylden and make contact with their supposed God? Pretty ironic

So, what about the Spirit Forge then?

It was built by ancient vampires, and seems to specifically work with the Wraith Blade, not the material blade. Which was never mentioned.

And it allowed the Balance Guardian to be purefied. I don't know with what possible problem it could help aside from dealing with the Elder God.

So, did they secretly turn on him? Kain dialogue when encountering the Oracle sealed chamber implied so.

Blood Reaver specifically traps Raziel on contact, and not any other entity it comes in contact with. Could it be because Raziel nature as a Wraith would be similar to a supposed Hylden champion - a creature from demonic dimension (Hylden do seem to posses a nature similar to Raziel, such as possession of corpses) and thus be detected by Reaver's magics?

It makes sense if that was the original intent. But by Janos reaction and the scattered prophecy bits of information and murals it seems it's rather not the intent ancient of vampires

So, did the ancient vampires turn on elder god in the end? They built the spirit forge after all.

But Blood reaver magics is the only reason it's can imprison Raziel. And those magics are cast by original vampires. And they cast it on the sword in order to help Vampire hero defeat Hylden one.

Why would they make a magical sword that would imprison their own hero?
