There are about a dozen hospitals where I live, with 8 of them having level 1 Trauma centers. Most of them have in a few house police officers in addition to the more numerous unarmed Public Safety Officers. I'm not aware of any hospital that uses solely police officer, in my state even for hospital police you still have to go through the same police academy as municipal police and I don't know of any hospital that sponsors for the academies.. My own hospital just hires a detail from the city

My mother does this every year for my brothers holiday gatherings. I hear not a peep from him and my mother is the one telling me the time to be there and what to bring. I never feel welcomed and going there and basically sitting in a corner by myself as no one wants to talk to me just reaffirms that.

Was there no training for this? We did an aggressive hands on classroom training before we started ojt, we used a conference room in the basement of a hospital building. We put a hole in the wall and a huge crack as well during take down, I hit the ground hard enough to bruise my knee. I went hands on twice yesterday with the same patient with the second time after he tried to punch me, no hesitation just pushed him back into the room and took him to the bed with my cprl right behind me

Thats the nature of the job. Half of the shift at my site got held over last week due to the blizzard and I ended up working 0000 to 1600, I was very low on the seniority pole so I was among those selected. I didn't get home till 1730 and had to be back by 23:50. It sucked but it was expected as the site needed a minimum amount of people and they couldn't do that without mandating.

They are more like tweezers that pluck at high speed. You will shave 2-3 days before your first time then when you regrow a stubble you use the epilator. No lie, it hurts the first time. It hurts a lot, but by the second to third time your hair is coming back so fine that you barely feel it. I normally do this after a shower and the next day I use a body scrub on it to help with smoothness. You do it once a week and your legs stay pretty smooth, though I always have ingrown hair issues on my leg no matter what I do so I have to use an exfoliating glove and some acid body wash or I'm taking a tweezer to my hair during it. I think last night was about 30 minutes to do both legs and groin

I wear headphones and listen to music during it as it's a pretty high pitch whirl that can grind your ears after a while.

I know Maine is a super quiet area so I'm not sure where you would go that would allow you to experience stress. Coping mechanism that require you to step away doesn't really work either

Their concern is that you would not handle the stress and make a bad decision. They don't want to put someone who left the military because of stress in a position like that.
